Today was Lunch with Grandma and Mom at Addie’s school. Most of my trips to MO are pretty flexible but for this trip, I had to be here today. So that meant working around Vince’s birthday last week, and getting home in time to get the car in the shop next week. The guy at the body shop said “You’re going to Missouri for lunch with a 3 year old?” Yes! Really, I jokingly said “Oh . . don’t start! I’ve already caught grief from my husband about this and I don’t need to hear it from you!”
Addie’s other grandma, Nana, drove down this morning from north of Nevada, MO (maybe it’s west of Nevada . . I can’t remember) and we all had lunch with Addie and her classmates.
They sang a few songs for us. The entertainment and the potato soup and Asian slaw made for a great lunch.
She came home and played outside with a neighbor. She’ll be a tired little girl when bedtime rolls around tonight. I’ve cooked corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes in the pressure cooker and friends are coming over for dinner. I also made Irish Soda Bread and the friends are bringing over banana pudding.
It’s been a fun and busy day. I love my life in Texas but I sure do miss family and friends in Missouri.

Of course you went for that lunch! Anyone lucky enough to have that opportunity would. I’m glad you and her other grandmother could both be there. What a treat for Addie! And you, too.

We Grammy’s can’t miss a moment with our sweethearts! I totally understand. Such a blessing to be with our grandchildren.

Grammy’s reserve the right to travel two or three or 50 states away to have lunch with their precious grandchildren. God bless you all.
