I am not affiliated with the Paprika app folks. I get not a dime if everyone who reads my blog buys the app. The Paprika folks have never heard of me. But, I LOVE their app! I’ve mentioned it on here before but this week, Paprika has again reminded me what a great app it is and how much I love it.
The other day, a friend posted a picture of Involtini that her husband had made, and she shared a link to the recipe. As soon as I read through the ingredients, I knew that was being added to my menu for this week. I was able to copy the link into Paprika and the recipe was imported, then I filed it under “Italian” and “Meatless Meals”.
A day or two later, another friend commented on a blog post about her Slovak mom making hrutka at Easter, and that being a memory from her childhood. I googled “hrutka” and came up with a fairly normal sounding recipe, sent a link to my friend, who in turn sent back her mom’s handwritten recipe, which I added to my Paprika app.
Then I found the recipe for the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake and, into Paprika it went.
As soon as I add a new recipe, I hit “sync” and the recipes are then available from my phone, my iPad, my Samsung tablet . . wherever I might be, whatever device I might be using.
Thursday we were out and I hadn’t planned on stopping at the grocery store but we were right there by it and Vince asked if I needed anything. I was able to grab my phone, open up the Paprika app, see that I needed eggplant and feta cheese for the Involtini, and that I had everything at home already for the chocolate cake.
The Paprika app is probably one of the most useful apps I have. I did have to buy it for all formats since I Prefer to work on my Windows computer when I’m at home, previously had an iPhone and still have an iPad, but now use a Samsung phone and tablet mostly.
If you like to cook, or like to keep your recipes close at all times, and you aren’t in love with your cooking app, you might want to check out Paprika.

Judy, this sounds interesting. Am all the time wanting to do a recipe and don’t have the ing. with me. My question is the one purchase good for all the devices or do you need to purchase for each one separate. I’m reading just one purchase. Just want to make sure! Thanks

What good timing. Just yesterday I made a note to check out recipe apps!

Judy, I got Paprika when you talked about it a few years ago. I love it although I’m not using the menu part as much as I could be. I don’t have a cell phone but I can see how really handy that would be. Thanks for the info and getting me into Paprika.

Judy, it looks like the recipes have to be on the web and you can’t just type some in. What do you do with all of your personal TNT recipes?
JudyL says
You can easily type them in. They do not have to be on the web already.
Deb says
That makes a big difference. Thanks for answering.

I noticed there was a recipe for involtini on America’s Test Kitchen recently. I love it that they test the recipe tweaking each parameter and end up with fool proof recipes. My only complaint is that the recipes always seem to have 20 steps to them but it’s hard to argue with success.
