He’s on a roll today! You know Speck is kinda grumpy. He takes after Vince. He’s always been terribly protective of me (Speck . . not Vince). Speck went to the vet today — $158 for office visit and three meds and a follow up visit in 2 weeks.
Speck was sleeping on his pillow on the floor tonight, all covered under his quilt. There’s been a moth on the ceiling all day. We have a cathedral ceiling and even with the dust mop, I couldn’t quite reach the moth. I asked Vince . . will you please take the dust mop and get that moth?
Unfortunately for Vince, he had to walk a little too close to me to get to the moth and Speck came at him and tried to bite him. Vince put the dust mop down between him and Speck, and Speck grabbed the mop and pulled the fluffy part off the handle.
Vince said “You little SOB (he said the words)! I spent $158 on you today and you’re trying to bite me? But, I guess that’s how it always is . . I’m spending $$ on people and they’re always trying to bite me!”
Poor Vince . . anyone feel sorry for him yet? 🙂
Vivian Oaks says
Yeah, I’ll feel sorry for Vince now…. LOL I’d be upset if a dog that lived in my house all those years tried to bite me, too!

Speck will be 16 in June and he’s tried to bite anyone and everyone who gets near me . . since he was just a baby puppy. We tried to stop him but it seems to be in his nature to protect one person and that’s me.
JudyL says
Speck has always been protective of me. Even back when Chad would come and snuggle with me, we’d have to watch Speck. When Addie is here, Speck has to move into the sewing room because he wouldn’t stand for her sitting with me.

I just took Chloe to the vet for a bladder infection. I knew what it was from the night before, but they still had to run a test. Cost me $175 for the test, pills and visit. Getting expensive, they are.
JudyL says
I hope Chloe is better!

Who is Vince hanging out with that people are always biting him?!
I know you guys watched Friday Night Lights. Do you remember this song from that show?
“Devil Town”
I was living in a devil town
I didn’t know it was a devil town
Oh lord it really brings me down about the devil town
All my friends were vampires
I didn’t know they were vampires
It turns out I was a vampire myself in the devil town
I was living in a devil town
I didn’t know it was a devil town
Oh lord it really brings me down about the devil town
All my friends were vampires
I didn’t know they were vampires
It turns out I was a vampire myself in the devil town
I was living in a devil town
I didn’t know it was a devil town
Oh lord it really brings me down about the devil town
About the devil town
I was living in a devil town
I didn’t know it was a devil town
Oh lord it really brings me down about the devil town

I truly did not remember that song! It’s hilarious! I think Vince was referring to the wife, the kids, the dogs, the tax man . . everyone wanting a little too much of the paycheck.
Carolyn says
It sounds a bit like Vince has a chip on his shoulder and is just waiting for the right person to knock it off. It’s difficult to make excuses for bad behavior in a grown man. Maybe he would be happier living alone in a cave and not allow anyone to spend his hard earned money.
JudyL says
Oh, I don’t think that’s what it is. He’s just funny with his dry humor. I believe, from the amount of money I spend, no one doubts that Vince is pretty generous with his hard earned money.
Donna in KS says
I feel about as sorry for him as I do mine!! But there is no dog here to do the biting!
Susan says
Have you been biting Vince??? LOL No, not so much sympathy, though I do understand his point of view here. =)
Jackie says
Ohhhh poor Vince, nothing is worse then being attacked by one who you feed and cloth, though one has to give some latitude for the aged.
Rebecca in SoCal says
Speaking of songs…anyone going to write “Poor Vince! Anybody feel sorry for him yet?” Sounds like a great drinking song.
