This is the time of year I’m cursing the cedar trees and wanting to hire someone to come out here and cut every one of them to the ground. I know there are folks who like them but we don’t like them at all. The cedar pollen causes “cedar fever” and it took me about 4 years to figure out that I was going to be sick this time of year if I didn’t get back on allergy meds and so far this year, I haven’t had to go to the doctor but I am sneezing my head off and going through boxes of Kleenex every week.
But, surely soon we’ll get a rain (how often do I say that?) and that will knock some of the pollen down and . . life will go on!
But, the weekend was so gorgeous! Pollen and all! I spent most of Saturday working in the greenhouse starting seeds. I love that little greenhouse. Here’s my list of what I planted. It was really the 30th . . as usual, I had the date wrong.
While out there, I harvested a bit of ginger, a few little key limes, a Meyer lemon and a little bag of basil. There are a couple of tomatoes . . there would be more if I wouldn’t eat them all while I pick them.
It’s so nice having tomatoes and basil in January.
Some time last year, Vince found this little garden seat/storage bench on sale.
It’s a great place to store the gardening supplies.
Really, on the days like this weekend when it was so pretty, I could live in that little greenhouse!

Ooooh! I love your bench! And I feel your pain on that cedar fever … don’t have to worry about that any more here in Ohio, nor do I have to worry about having “juniper fever” any longer …. I love the smell of juniper and cedar but they sure do cause havoc with my sinuses – and the older I get the worse it becomes. Hmph.
And for the record I’m a teensy bit jealous of your greenhouse too. 🙂

Cut our cedars down about 5 yrs ago, plenty around us on others property. It gives me a headache, even when I wear a mask. And then I get an infected nose and brochitus from it every year. Oh its just grand, said sarcasticly.

I feel your pain with the cedar. I’m allergic to cedar and maple. Spring is sooooo much fun! Not!
