A decision has been made for the yarn for my next Hitofude. In this post I talked about the yarn I would use. These were my choices:
I had decided to use the one on the right, which is Miss Babs Shiruku in Roasted Pumpkin.
It was in 2013 that I ordered three skeins of Roasted Pumpkin but in order to make Hitofude a bit longer, I need four skeins. When Miss Babs had her sale after Christmas, they had one skein of Roasted Pumpkin Shiruku so I ordered it (last year . . doesn’t count on this year’s stash report!) 🙂
Since it’s been over 2 years, I was waiting for the new skein to arrive because there’s a good chance the colors may not be exactly the same. I figured if the colors are close but not perfect, I’ll swatch with the new skein and then alternate on the sleeve area, which is about the only area where the rows are completely horizontal.
The yarn got caught up in the holiday mail and didn’t arrive til last week while I was gone. Last night I opened it and without even holding it up to the older yarn, I knew the color was way off.
Then I noticed that the new skein color was “Russet”. Hmm . . looked online at my invoice and I had ordered Roasted Pumpkin.
An email has been sent to Miss Babs and I’m sure they will take care of it. They do still have one skein of Roasted Pumpkin but I have to get started NOW so I had to choose a different yarn and here’s what I chose!
Madelinetosh’s Tosh Mo Light in No Ruffles Please. It’s hard to see in the picture but there are black flecks in the yarn. It’s way more raspberry than it looks in the picture.
Tomorrow I will post a link box where you can link up your swatches for the Hitofude KAL.

I know it’s not the color you ordered, but it’s still very pretty.
