Yes, it’s Christmas Day and you’re spending time with your family but I need help! 🙂
I’m trying to decide on the yarn for my next Hitofude. I’ve narrowed it down to these four.
Left to Right:
- Madelinetosh Twist Light – Baltic
- Madelinetosh Twist Light – Hosta Blue (The only reason I wouldn’t choose this one is that I use just a tad more than 3 skeins of yarn and there are 5 skeins of this so I’d kinda be leaving 1 plus almost another skein leftover . . maybe to never be used on something else.)
- Madelinetosh Tosh Mo Light – No Ruffles Please (This one is way more purple than in the photo. I love the little flecks of black in it.
- Miss Babs Shiruku – Roasted Pumpkin (This yarn was purchased in November, 2013 specifically for Hitofude.)
I’m feeling like the Miss Babs yarn is what I should use because it was purchased for this project over 2 years ago but that No Ruffles Please is really calling my name. I wish the photo showed the color more accurately. I’m pretty sure I’m going to make a third Hitofude . . because I’m making one now to get past the part that confused me and make sure I have it down, and then I want to make another one when the group does starting February 1. I guess I could do one now and one then . . no matter what I decide — at least I’m using stash yarn and not ordering new yarn, right?

My first choice would have been Miss Babs which is #4 on your list. Number 1 is a second choice. Here is the kicker to my choices….I am not the one knitting it and you should go with your choice of #3 so you will enjoy the project all the more. Thanks for pointing out the black flecks as all I could see is a shade of purple which is not my favorite color.
Happy Knitting????

Think I would go for the 3rd one but I am a purple fan, the left over yarn can be used for a scarf of hat some time
Hupe you are having a lovely day
JudyL says
I thought about that but since I love the color, I’d rather wait til there’s a sweater I love and use all the yarn for that . . but I suppose used for something is better than sitting and never getting used, right?
Katie says
Baltic is one of my all time favorite Tosh colorways so I’m partial to that one. The Miss Babs is a close second.
Norma says
Love the Miss Babs, my choice but then, I’m going to do mine in white. 🙂

Miss Babs Shiruku Beautiful color….

If you are going to do 2 I also like Madelinetosh Twist Light – Baltic

#3 or #4 – better yet, Both!
I really like this pattern, especially the open lacey areas. I’m eager to see it on you – or the dress form.
Helene says
Roasted Pumpkin in my first choice, and please send Baltic to me. A girl can ask, right? Just let me know when you need my address.

Or …. you could order new yarn so you have more choices since Miss B’s gratitude sale is on. 😉 Hey – enabling at it’s best and she has some cute snowflake stitch markers I’ve been wanting so I have had to order some yarn to protect the stitch markers in transit.
Tina in NJ says
I really like the Baltic blue. But again, go with what you like best.

#3 Mo Light ! Love that color – bright and cheery !!
Pat says
Number 3 would be my first chose and # 4 would be second. Now go make it out of the one you want.

I’d go with Miss Babs. Partly because the color is gorgeous, and partly because it’s Miss Babs! She is probably my favorite indie dyer. She went above and beyond one year for me at SAFF to get me some Yowza! in a matching lot as close as she could get to some that I had purchased a whole year prior. I have a lot of her yarn in my stash. And I love all of it!
pat says
I like the first one the best.
Donna says
Miss Babs (#4) is my choice. That color is gorgeous. Go ahead and use that color. When you get it made if you don’t like it I’ll send you my address. (LOL)
I love the design. The back is very nice! I don’t knit but I sure do like what you knit.
Kathy says
If you originally purchased #4 to make this pattern and it is still in the mix I think you should use that one. It is a very pretty color and the ones I have looked at in similar colors are quite beautiful.

I’d go with number 3 first choice then Number 2. I’m thinking spring colors because it looks like a spring sweater for us Texans. Beautiful sweater by the way.
Karen Sutton says
I love the pumpkin color best but they’re all beautiful. I ordered Madelintosh MO Light in Neon Peach for mine. Can’t wait to get started. Thanks for getting us going – I’ve been wanting to do one for ages but the pattern was intimidating so I kept moving it down the list.
Amy (Waunaknit) says
I think you should keep No Ruffles for the KAL. ;0) I just ordered some Tosh Twist Light in Whiskey Barrel. Yes, this is my LAST yarn order for the year.
Joyce says
They’re all pretty! I’m a purple girl, so I’d pick purple…but that’s just me…the blues are pretty too. I don’t care for autumn colors on myself, but that’s just me. I wan’t any help, was I? I have some pink Wollmeise that I just got, that I think will work. Of course our local yarn stores have end of year sales going on…maybe I should check them again…
Nancy says
You almost make we wish that I knitted. I would use Number 1.
Gari says
I think you should choose the Roasted Pumpkin and then send it to me. 😉
Dar in MO says
I know by now you have probably decdided on a color, but I would use the color that looks best on you. I like the purple color, since I’m a purple gal, but your reasoning strikes me as smart. Wait for a pattern that you can use all 5 skeins at a time.
Rebecca in SoCal says
You’ve probably decided by now, but they’re all pretty. Congratulations on “shopping” your stash!
