Look who I found out manning the Salvation Army kettle at the mall today! I knew he was going to be there so I went and stood with him for a while, then ran into Bath & Body Works and got a few things.
It was funny because he said “Most everyone speaks to me if I speak to them first.” I said “You never speak to people who are out ringing the bells.” He said . . I will now!
It was nice to see 3M folks (3Mers) all over town manning the kettles in their blue 3M shirts. Vince gets to do it again at Walmart next week for the Lions Club. Good job, Vince!

I know Vince is a great guy but his company 3M is even better. These bell ringers are the best and help so many. I always speak to them and drop some money in the bucket. Thanks Vince and friends..

Good job, Vince! I was in a horrible car wreck during Spring Break when I was in college (and no alcohol or drugs were involved!). It was very close to the county line right at the Arkansas/Mississippii border, which complicated things. The car was totalled and towed to one county while we were all taken to the ER in another county. We were separated from all of our belongings which were in the car. Evidently, the Salvation Army officer in that little town had a close relationship with the ER nurses and was called when they realized our plight. He picked us up and got us hotel rooms, took us to the neighboring county to get our belongings the next day and got us airplane tickets back to civilization. That was many, many years ago. Way before cell phones or any way to get assistance quickly. You just never know when all of the sudden you can be rendered helpless and need a little help. I’ve never forgotten that kind gesture. Keep ringing, Vince!
