Do you love it or hate the time changes? I love this one and it works great for me but Vince doesn’t love it and I can understand his reasoning. For him, almost as soon as he gets home from work, it’s dark and he has no time to do anything outside.
For me, in the mornings, I was having to sit around and wait for daylight to go out and take care of the chickens. I never wanted to take a shower before I go out there because, when dealing with chickens, I never know what kind of mess I’m going to get into.
With it staying dark later on the old time, I was waiting and waiting for the chickens to go in so I could go close them up. Now, right before or right after dinner, I can go close them up and by a little after 6 p.m., we’re done outside and in for the evening . . lots of time for relaxing, watching a movie or just visiting. In the summer, it’s sometimes 9:30 p.m. and we’re still out there working. That’s why Fall and Winter are my favorite times, even though I’m not a big fan of real cold weather . . which we rarely have here anyway.
It is what it is and there’s not much we can do about either time change except find a way to get through it. Fall is the easy one for me . . I struggle with the Spring time change.

I’m with Vince..hate the early darkness at night. I like it when it stays light til 9. But then I don’t have outside chores that keep me out. Just like it to be light if I decide to hop in the car at 8 to go somewhere. And then there’s the fact that the cold is coming. Eww

I just wish we could pick ONE and stay with it, the spring change kicks my butt every time! But here in AZ–clocks stay the same and I love it!

I hate DST. The changes are too abrupt, and we aren’t fooling anything by making them. Just leave it regular time year round is my vote.

I’m with Janna– I wish all states would stop the DST changes. I hate the dark coming so early. Hate it work when I’m working, for the same reasons Vince has– the days over before he gets home, so no projects. In 50 more days the Earth will start to tilt back toward the Sun and the days will start getting longer again. But there’s an awful lot of freezing weather, snow and bare trees between now and the spring.

I am tired of them flipping it on and off. I want it to be time, early morning or late night. All year, lol.

As long as we are stuck with the changes, I prefer this ‘fall back’. My grandmother had dairy cows. She always left her clocks on standard time; cows don’t know that clocks changed, and they still need to be milked at the same time each day, their udders are like that! In the long run, I’d like the clocks to just stay at one time year round.

I think they should do away with DST and split the difference. I hate the change and don’t think it can be too healthy for people, especially when you lose an hour. Yuck.

I’m with Vince, I like more light in the evening. But no one asks me, they just change the time.
