This sign is showing up all over town.
This sign is up at Kroger. I saw one at our local veggie market. It’s been back in the bigger towns/cities for a while now and I know people who have driven 3+ hours to buy it and bring it home on dry ice. I won’t mention any names but we didn’t do that. We’ve tried several brands and settled on Tillamook but it isn’t Blue Bell. All you Tillamook fans, don’t start defending your favorite . . it’s mostly what you’re used to having. I can tell that Tillamook is high quality and the flavors are delicious but I want my Blue Bell back.
It may well be hard to get the first days it’s back in town so I’m not going to rush out on Monday and try to find it but by Wednesday, I’ll probably be making the rounds in town.
The first I’m going to buy . . Homemade Vanilla and then I’m going to come home and make us rootbeer floors, and next, I’m going to open a jar of my home grown peaches and I’m going to make a peach cobbler and . . I might do both those things in the same day! 🙂
Welcome back Blue Bell. You have definitely been missed!

Don’t get sticker shock when it arrives. It was $6.99/$7.99 for half gallon when it first got here back in Sept. now is has settled down to $4.99. But hey we are only 90 miles form Blue Bell…….

Yippee! Can hardly wait.
Our Kroger ad says Nov 2 for us. My hub says there will be ppl camping out – and he’s probably right!
I can wait a few more days tho. We tried Tillamook, it was just ok. NO one can beat Bluebell’s Homemade Vanilla. Fact. hah..
We do really like Aldi’s Belmont in Peanut Butter S’mores. Really good. But we have been craving a good vanilla, and can’t be satisfied with anything we can buy.

Not familiar with Blue Bell. Can I assume by your blog that they only make ice cream in the fall and winter?
We have a local creamery that closes in the winter but they do not sell in super markets. Ferris Creamery in Newtown, CT opened a creamery on their farm and their ice cream is delicious. They learned their techniques at Penn State. Now there is ice CREAM.
Enjoy your Blue Bell!

Blue Bell had a bit of listeria contamination problem so they shut down all of their plants to decontaminate them as well as figure out the source and mode of transmission. I think the two smaller plants are operational which is why they are staggering the distribution.
Nov 2 is when I should be able to see the brand back in the marketplace in OKC. And they are only doing 5 flavors at first….at least the homemade vanilla is one of the flavors!

HA!! You are too funny! I like ice cream but rarely buy it. We make homemade for our family get togethers in the summer and, other than homemade, the only other ice cream I eat is Braum’s chocolate almond. Every now and then the craving will hit and I’ll run up and get a single in a waffle cone or a two dip sundae. But loving Braum’s is a real conundrum if you don’t live in Texas, Oklahoma or Arkansas (? I think it’s only in 3 states..was last time I looked).

Oops, double-checked..KS and MO as well.

Braums is great!
The family farm is in Tuttle OK (just south of OKC) and they limit their area to 300 miles from the farm. I like that they are have small markets in their stores. Stop by for a breakfast sandwich and get some eggs, milk, ice cream, etc.

OMG, you make me laugh! You and your Blue Bell. 🙂 Don’t get a tummy ache!
Now I am craving hot peach cobbler and ice cream. I wish I could taste Blue Bell. I keep looking for it but no. So I’ll be happy with my Tillamook.
Root beer float for breakfast? Hmmmmmmm

Well I’m happy for you and jealous at the same time. Here in Florida (my son works for Publix) we are still being told they are not on the books to be in the freezer. I’m sure that just mean the people who order it still can’t but no one has said anything about its return. Like you when it returns I have a few things that will be made that first week; peach cobbler, apple pie, and strawberry cake. It will be made with frozen strawberries but with Homemade vanilla who cares!

I saw a notice that home delivery was starting and thought of you right away. Can’t get it out here in California which is probably the best for me. I hope you enjoy it for the both of us.

I have just about given up on Blye Bell
