Since we don’t have TV, I don’t have a clue what they’re saying about our weather, though I’ve heard from quite a few folks who are concerned about us. It makes me feel good to know that you’re concerned but we’re really going to be fine at our house. Even with 8 – 10″ of rain in early July, we hardly had any puddles. Downtown and along the lakes and creeks may be flooded but at our house, we’re high and dry.
As of bedtime last night, we had a little over 1″ in the rain gauge. Lots of places not very far from us had 7 or more inches of rain yesterday. The online weather reports are showing that we may get anywhere from 7 – 10 inches of rain today but even that won’t cause us any problems.
We have plenty of food, water, ways to cook should we lose power, though I don’t think we’re expecting any power issues. We have no reason to leave home so we’ll just sit tight, knit, read, watch movies on Netflix and have a relaxing weekend.
Our biggest problem is going to be convincing a dachshund and chihuahua to go outside in the rain.
You don’t have to worry about us! We’ll be just fine.

I understand totally about the dogs…..we have six plus 2 grand-dogs visiting and they are definitely reluctant to go out and get wet! We have had over 5 inches so far.

The rain has almost made it to us. And we have the same dachshund times 3 problem. We are getting a fence so I can take the puppies out but they were going to put it up tomorrow and with the rain they won’t be able to set the cement for the poles. This means that Eric will be responsible for getting wet. I probably should feel more badly than I do. lol

I don’t understand the power issues. Don’t you have a back up with all those power grids? Don’t you have extra battery power electrictricy you’ve made? Can’t you use that? And here I was thinking I was going to get some solar panels so I’d never be without power again. Please explain this no power to us. By the way glad you are getting some much needed rain. We needed it here too. It has rained now straight 24 hours and I’m not complaining one bit.
