I’m a big country music fan and if you aren’t a country music fan, you may not know Rory & Joey but it was back in 2009 when Chad came in and played their Cheater, Cheater song or me. The video is on this blog post. That song is on my ipods and there’s almost always an ipod going – in the sewing room when I’m sitting with Boots knitting; when I’m in the kitchen cooking; when I’m in the car driving (not riding because Vince doesn’t share my love of country and old gospel music).
Another song of theirs on my ipod is “That’s Important to Me”. I’ve been listening to it for 3 or 4 years and it almost always brings tears to my eyes. It really sums up a lot of what’s important to me.
Joey was diagnosed with cancer a bit over a year ago and it doesn’t look good. Rory has documented a lot of their life/trials/joys in their blog. It’s a sad story but yet it’s uplifting. If you’re the praying type, their family could surely use some prayers.
Thanks, Rory & Joey, for two of my favorite songs – one that always makes me laugh and one that always makes me cry. Thanks for documenting your love, your faith and your walk through the incredible journey you’re traveling.

Yes so sad. I love these two, and their girls. I’ve followed them for several years and loved it when their show was on RFD-TV. I’m still praying for a miracle, how about you?

How sad, I have been following their blog…but hadn’t caught that new development.

A Facebook friend had “liked” a post this morning and it just happened to be the link to Rory’s blog. I was not familiar with them, though I do hear a lot of CW music. I went back and pretty much read through his entire blog. Cancer is such an awful thing, along with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. And neither are a respecter of a person’s life position, finances, faith or any other element of life. It is very sad for such a lovely family, still so young, with such a young child, to be facing this. As Rory’s blog post was titled, “Enough”. But all prayers asking for a miracle.

Thank you for referencing this blog. Although the story is so very sad I’m sure I will gather strength from his faith and stories. Just what I read today was amazing even though not a good outcome. I hope my faith would help me be as graceful as they are. I pray for a miracle and know it can happen. I Iove country music but had never heard of them before today. I will be looking for their music. “That’s important to me” is such a great song! From his blog they seem like genuine people who enjoy the simple ways of life THanks again for sharing.

So heartbreaking. Lifting up the family in prayers.

Oh WOW!! Sounds almost exactly like the script we followed with my DH when he was diagnosed. Rory says he’s not angry at God but I was, for a VERY long time. Over 3 years have gone by and not angry anymore but still sad and lonely. It’s a tough road…..my prayers are with them and all who travel this path.

Thank you for sharing this, I have never heard about Joey and Rory, and their story is sad but uplifting. I’m adding my prayers to those that have been praying already.

Judy, I too like Joey and Rory and have been sad too looking at the blog post about Joey. I will certainly be praying for this sweet couple and their little one. We enjoy Larry’s Country Diner and they have been on there and are signed up to go on their next cruise. Thanks for posting this as prayers are so needed.
