First, please realize that “wild and crazy” is relative and my wild and crazy day means . . I left the farm for more than an hour.
It started out that Vince didn’t set his clock. I woke up about 4:30 this morning, thinking about Chad’s keys so I got up and started knitting. I didn’t have the phone, didn’t have the computer on . . it was plenty dark outside. I had no idea what time it was but after a good while, I turned the computer on and it was 6:20. Vince’s alarm goes off at 5:45 and either it didn’t go off or he didn’t get up but he was still sleeping so I woke him up and he rushed off to work with a piece of toast to eat in the car.
I had totally forgotten that today was flu shot day and had made plans to meet a lady at 1:00 p.m. to look at some alpacas. And I didn’t remember it was flu shot day til Vince reminded me about 10:00, and I still needed a shower and they stopped giving shots at 11:00 so that wasn’t going to work. Vince told me they start back up again at 1:00 so I called the alpaca lady and left her a message that I wouldn’t be there til 1:30. Then when Vince came home at lunch, he told me they started back giving shots at 1:30 so I called the alpaca lady and told her I would go back to the original plan and meet her at 1:00. Then Vince called me about 12:30 and said “The shot ladies are open early so come now!” I get really frustrated when I’m rushed and have to be her and there and then somewhere else. I don’t do “the fast life” very well so it’s a good thing I live where I live . . and don’t do much with the social scene.
At 12:40, I went rushing to get my flu shot, got it, then met the alpaca lady. She and I hit it right off . . her kids and grandkids are far away, she knits, spins . . and has alpacas. Those alpacas were so funny. One was very pregnant, which I think takes about 11.5 months and she’s close to being ready to deliver. Me being there, and a neighbor’s dog who wasn’t used to me kept barking and had the mama to be a bit flustered and she kept spitting! She was spitting at the lady, at me, at the other alpacas. I couldn’t stop laughing but I learned to figure out when she was fixing to spit and I got out of her way! I spent 2 hours there and then headed to the AT&T store for help with a phone problem, was there 2 hours and will have to get a new phone . . something is wrong with mine. The lady at AT&T was great, the guy we had to call with the warranty department was great . . pretty weird for AT&T here but I let happy and it will be a week or so before I have a new phone.
Vince got home before I did . . it was 5:30 before I got home so we went and got Mexican for dinner.
Now, 7:30 p.m., the chickens are fed and put up for the night; the dogs are fed and have had their next to last trip outside; Cat is fed and off to hunt for critters; Boots has been fed and brushed and petted and me . . I’m fixing to pick up my knitting and hopefully get a few hours of knitting done before bed time . . and the end of a busy day for me.
