We’ve had a busy day. For me, it was laundry — mostly housekeeping stuff. Rita kept us up a good bit last night so I did get in a nap this afternoon. She was sick this morning . . wouldn’t eat a bit til early afternoon. That is so unlike her and even though she’s been sick for a few days, she was still eating and drinking. She seems ok now .. we’ll see if she makes it through the night without feeling bad and keeping us up.
Vince worked on getting tables done for the greenhouse.
And even the bees were busy. I tried so hard to get pictures but I’m not sure I did a very good job. These weeds are full of bees and they all have little pollen balls on their feet to carry back to the hive.
It’s a blurry picture but you can see the yellow ball.
This picture is a little better. Maybe in the morning, before the sun is so bright, I can get better pictures or . . maybe I’ll take a different camera (I was using the cell phone) and see what I can get.
There has to be a hive nearby. In the spring, they were in the mesquite tree. Then, and now with these weeds, when I walk by, there’s a loud buzz coming from the area. There are quite a few bees in there. Hopefully that means they find their way to the garden and the fruit trees too.

I was watering my lavender plant this evening, and I counted at least 5 bees on the flowers. I don’t think they were really happy to get a shower, but at least they didn’t get aggressive. It’s funny though. I bought honey from a local beekeeper this morning, and we were talking about how the bees are still active right now when the weather isn’t bad. They ought to make some good honey from lavender!

Yes, I can see their pollen! It’s good to have happy bees. I haven’t heard a good garden buzz for a long time.
