Every place has its unique/weird weather. Everywhere we’ve lived, there has been something that surprised me. When we moved from southwest Louisiana to Kentucky, I thought I was getting away from the humidity but the humidity was as high in the Ohio Valley as it was near the Gulf of Mexico.
Here, it’s hard to believe that one place can have such extreme heat during the entire summer, and yet have ice and below freezing temps in the winter.
I had to laugh when I was looking at our long range forecast. From Accuweather.com . .
The low on October 14 will be 46 . . which probably means the heater may well be on. The high the next day . . 91, which means the air conditioner will definitely be on. 45 degrees difference between the high and low. 91 in mid-October . . that’s just not right, is it?

Here in the high desert/mountains of Idaho we get temperature fluctuations like that in the same day! It usually happens in the late spring/early summer. It is actually pretty common to have lows in the low 40’s and highs in the 90’s the same day. It is not only the usda zone you are in that affects your plants, but those extreme temperature fluctuations. We have great weather here–for about 7 months of the year. Winters, not so much! LOL

Our first year here we had record highs and lows on the same day. That’s Texas! But still love it. Not planning on moving anywhere else.

That’s pretty amazing. The highs are somewhat extreme, but those lows! That makes the weather…interesting.
