This is the first yarn that I spun and plied myself.
As you can see, it isn’t perfect but it is my first yarn! The cream colored is undyed merino and the green is from a Noro Rainbow Roll.
There’s 110 yards and I think I’m going to use it to make a little felted bag for holding some of the spinning supplies – like the oil, the orifice tool and little things like that.
Still no decision made on the spinning wheel but I’ve hardly stopped thinking about it.

Congratulations! Isn’t the first skein so fun? Mine is sitting in a bowl in my family room. For now it is a nice art object…I haven’t yet made anything with my spinning. (and I’m on skein 8 or 9 now). I have plans to make a cowl and/or do some weaving, but I’m trying to finish up some lagging knitting projects before starting something new, and I have a slow project on the loom.

Your first skein of yarn looks great! My first skein looked like a rats nest! I have been spinning on and off for a couple of years and it is very addicting. I wish I had more time for it. I have 3 spinning wheels: The Louet Julia (my favorite), the Schacht SideKick for traveling (it folds up and fits in one of my larger suitcases and I take it camping) and a Paradise Fibers Revolution (this was a 50th birthday present from my family) it has everything to spin thick and thin yarns. I looked at the LadyBug and almost bought it but decided on the Sidekick since it folds better. Good luck and have fun with your spinning!
