Sometimes I feel like a moody blogger. There are days when I can’t stop writing blog posts. It seems like there are dozens of things I want to share with you each day. Then there are days when I think . . there’s not
one blogworthy thing happening in my life that anyone would care about reading. It isn’t that I’m sad or depressed or that my life is boring . . it’s just the mundane, boring (to most) slump that I seem to be in right now.
Or maybe it’s the first week home from MO and everything just seems boring and mundane around here. Who knows!
The chickens are fine. The cats are both doing what they always do. The dogs are good. The garden has been mowed down except for the Japanese okra, loofah and yacon. We’re debating about whether to plant a fall garden. We’d better make that decision this weekend or the answer is going to be no .. for sure.
I’m trying to cook out of the freezer and pantry . . just to do a bit of cleaning and organizing, so the meals are nothing worth blogging about.
The most exciting thing around here is that there must be crumbs under my space bar because I’m typing and will end up with about 10 words together with no spaces! Ughh!
And, while we were cleaning out the garden this weekend, we found a rabbit carcass buried under tall weeds. I wonder if Cat had rabbit for dinner a few days. Or, maybe the weeds were so tall, the rabbit got lost in there and died of old age.
I don’t expect anyone to “fix” me . . just telling you how I feel right now.

We all have days that we feel are boring to other people. But you have such a great way with words, that even telling us about what you consider boring makes me laugh!

Just wanted to let you know that my space key did the same thing, and cleaning out under it did not help. My husband installed a new keyboard in my laptop for me, and it was not very much money. My husband does not regularly do computer repair, but he did this one pretty easily. So there is hope even if your problem is not crumbs.
I think you should just roll with however you feel, the days you have lots to tell us will even out with the days you don’t talk to us. (ALthough you know we will be sending you messages to make sure you are ok!)

I agree with others that you think things are mundane and the usual for you but I always learn, appreciate, laugh, think about or enjoy each and every post you write. It is new and different to me. You should take a small (very small) break and see if things change. Sometimes we just need to be ourselves for a little while. l am also the same person who stalks the praying mantis and hummers to see what they are doing and where they are all day so my life is pretty quiet!! So take a day or so if needed. Your loyal fans will be here. Hasn’t Vince done anything lately? He’s always good for a laugh…

Relax. Most of us can relate. Friendship (even on the Internet) does not require that you keep us intertwined. We just need to know that you’re ok and will be back.

Sounds to me like your are suffering from missing your Missouri family as well as end of summer blues. I love reading your blog. We all have these down feelings but keep being your sweet self and this too shall pass. Kathy

I’m taking a wild guess and thinking that it’s coming back from MO and your Addie time. 😉

And this too will pass!

Hi Judy, maybe it is time for us to chat at you. Just take care of yourself, I’ll just check in to see when you are back. Friends give friends the space they need to get centered, but friends can ask for help too. Ok? Hugs. Liz

Guess you need to plant a fall garden so you’ll have something to blog about….if you don’t work yourself to death and find yourself too tired to blog.
I miss you when you don’t send something even if it’s that you don’t have anything to blog about.
The slump will pass and you’ll have us rolling in the floor again.
You’re probably just having travel lag.

The remnants of your garden are pretty entertaining–Okra, Loofah, and yacon. I have no idea what any of these look like.
Cats, dogs, rabbits, and husband certainly always are doing something!
Have a nice lay low and return when you see fit! ( My guess is the first big story will feature someone whose name starts with V…)

Gosh the blahs seemed to bounce off the satelite and hit me here in NZ. I didn’t enjoy work today, didn’t enjoy browsing in the quilt shop after work, came home and ate everything that was loose in the pantry and now am planning takeaways for tea. Even though there is meat and vege in the fridge.
Tomorrow, when I have finished whipping myself I will just get on with life.
And you too Judy, will just wake up and get on with life too.
Diane in CA says
I vote for no fall garden.. I want to see what you come up with to fill all that spare time.

My diagnosis is a case of “no Addie” blahs.

I disagree with everyone I think you need to buy more yarn????????????

I miss you when you don’t blog but I understand. Just go with when the urge strikes.

I understand the blog slump….I’m deep into a slump. No big deal. I too miss when you don’t post anything but and always think that you are to busy and very tired from gardening and canning and animal tending.
And missing your kiddos…..

I would imagine you find a lot of commiseration out there! Me included!! 🙂

Blog slump – Balderdash. I have learned a lot from you Judy, and not just knitting! I want to get my kiddos to look at your blog. They are young professionals and are planning on buying 40 acres just north of McKinney. I love your referrals on knitting patterns, knitting shops, recipes, all about chickens etc.. However, I want them to see the tech things you talk about where I can barely remember the details, solar power, the air conditioning issues – never knew about those units, carbon footprint, etc. I think you have lots to say. Give yourself a chance to just slide in the heat and get the wind back under your sails, Fall is coming, its more than a promise now. I lost my husband last Winter, along with a whole lot more. It’s contact with others, chatting and getting out there that keeps us ticking. Hard to lose family, hard when you can only visit with them but they are still the center of your universe. Don’t lose your footing. Just the same, don’t feel obligated, but your blog has been good for serious issues as well as laughter.

Very good advice and reminders to us all! Take care and thank you. Stephani

This to shall pass.

I love your blog, Judy! It is one of the first places I go in the morning with my coffee! You truly are an inspiration with all of your projects and your busy life. (And I’ve learned so much!)
Blog when you can – many will be waiting!!!
