Nicole has turned into a good cook and more importantly, she seems to enjoy it more than she once did.
We’ve madeEnchiladas
We’ve made the tamales that I’ve already shown here.
We’ve made homemade pasta and fresh tomato sauce.
We made pork stroganoff twice.
I didn’t take a picture, but we also made Meat Lovers’ Quiche and it was delicious. This would be an easy dish to make ahead (meats) and then add the eggs and milk mixture at the last minute, and serve for breakfast when you have company. Sorry I didn’t take a picture!
Again, no photo but we made tomato soup and it was also good. Chad probably had never had homemade tomato soup and even though he thought he wasn’t going to like it, he did.
Tonight we’re having the pork chop dish that I make often and then . . my cooking with Nicole will end. Back to me cooking in my kitchen and Nicole cooking in her kitchen!

Can you share more about making the home made pasta in a future post?
Would love to know more about the process and how you stored it – once made.

I am not such a great cook myself, makes it tough being married to a professional chef! He doesn’t always have such practical tips for cooking at home, so I love reading your recipes and tips about cooking for two.

I am so glad that you got to spend time with Chad, Nicole and Addie. You are so lucky to have such a special daughter in law! And of course that little grand baby is just wonderful. I can’t believe how much she has grown. Just treasure all of those memories!

mmm green sauce! i’ve been looking for one that is similar to las palmas brand in the store but with no luck. most i’ve found use jalapenos for the green and that is just too hot for me. i like spicey but not hot just for the sake of heat. is it one you’ve shared yet? i couldn’t find it with the search.

Patty, are you basing it on tomatilloes? I think that’s what makes the sauce green, and tangy.

most of the recipes i find don’t have much tomatillo, rather they use chiles so that’s why i think i’m not having much luck. last year i planted a tomatillo just to make the sauce and learned that you must have TWO of them to cross pollinate! since i didn’t find a good recipe, this year we didn’t plant any but i can always buy them in the store. i just hate to go to all of the work to make a big batch of sauce (to can) and then have it not be any good.
