Good Morning, Blog Readers!
Back in June which Chad, Nicole and Addie were here, Addie would go out with me to let the chickens out in the morning. You know how kids typically are pretty happy . . and I can just hear Addie’s other grandmother saying these things, but when we walked out just about daylight, Addie would cheerfully say “Good Morning, Moon!” Then we’d get to the chickens and she would enthusiastically say “Good Morning, Chickens!” Everything we encountered . . “Good Morning, Swing!” “Good Morning, Lawn Mower!” It was funny to hear her doing it and now, I find myself doing it. It makes me smile and remember her excitement to face each morning.
The last few mornings, Cat has been waiting for me on top of the propane tank. He had been waiting on the other side of the well house and I didn’t see him til I came back from letting the chickens out. I guess he thinks he’ll position himself front and center and maybe he’ll get fed 5 minutes sooner.
Good Morning, Chickens! They can’t wait to start their day.
Good Morning, Rabbit! There are a couple that hang out in the chicken pens, eating the corn that’s left from the evening before, but they keep a watchful eye on the chicken door and make a speedy exit as soon as I open the door.
Good Morning, Sun! Please be gentle to us today (though I know it’s going to be at least 103 in the shade!).
As most days are, it’s been a good morning at our little house in hot, dry, dusty Texas. I hope it’s going to be a good day at your house!

It’ll be a good day here. Galen has been texting me every morning to let me know that Dad had no problems during the night and they are on the bus for the day’s activities. Always a good way to start the days this week. Now I am enjoying sitting here with coffee in hand, watching the birds at the feeders and listening to them sing. yes, it will be hot, but we have one advantage over you-our trees have grown! Will fill the bird feeders soon, give the plants a drink and then get busy!

Good morning, Judy!! Hopefully it’ll be a good day here today. Got up early this morning as the Foam My Walls guys were coming at 7am. Hopefully that’ll help make my master bed and bathroom a little cooler (more like the rest of the house). Will let you know!! Then I gotta go take care of my sister’s cat and plants and my niece’s cats, dog and chickens while they’re in Maine (enter mad face here! LOL). But at least then I can take a dip in the pool (ahhhhhh). Forecast 108 for here on Sunday :-/

Good Morning, Judy! It is going to be a warm one here in Alaska today…probably close to 80! The greenhouse will get up in the 90’s though, so I am off to water the tomatoes and to see what new cucumbers have sprung up overnight. The squirrel has already raided the Steller Jay’s stash of peanuts so I must refill the feeder before I get soundly scolded by irate Jays. I am building a new flower garden for an elderly couple today so I will come home tonight tired, dirty…and happy. I love being retired and able to play in the dirt instead of spending the day in an office. 😉

Did you see that the Blue Bell ice cream plant in Alabama (or Arkansas, one of those A states) has started production again?
Hope they hurry to you in Texas.
We don’t get Blue Bell here but we are 70 miles from Tillamook, OR so we are happy with our ice cream.

How sweet of Addie.. Children are born as blank slates and information is added … It sounds like Addie is reinforcing her identification of everything she sees. I love this.
