Not only did the new freezer arrive exactly the day it was supposed to but the old one didn’t go out before the new one got here. I was keeping my fingers crossed. The old one, which is 3 years old and I’m not very happy about that, will become a cold smoker for Vince. I had been packing stuff so tightly in the one that was going out that, even though the new one is the same size, I couldn’t get everything in it so this morning has been spent making prickly pear jelly, which I needed to make anyway. The juice was taking up a lot of room in the freezer. I still don’t think I’m going to get everything in the new freezer. Maybe I’ll eat a half gallon of ice cream this afternoon.
Didn’t mean to get the driver’s back side but . . there it is! These guys have been here before but every driver who comes here moans and complains about our driveway. I find it hard to believe that the people who built this place had all this land and made the driveway that is impossible to turn around in. Just past the well house is a fence. Then can’t turn left because it’s too sharp with the well house there. They can’t turn right because there are trees there. Trees are too hard to come by around here so we’re not cutting them. The driver said he remembered how much trouble he had last time so he was going to back all the way to the highway. That’s a long way of backing up! I suppose if we decide we’re staying here, we’ll move that fence back and make a turn around spot. Or, we could stop buying stuff and then there wouldn’t be any big delivery trucks coming. UPS and Fed Ex can do it ok in their smaller trucks.
Here’s a funny thing. Funny I guess . . kinda sad if we wanted to shop local. If we bought the freezer at the local Sears, they charged $60 delivery fee. If we bought it online, we got it for the same price and it got delivered all the way from Abilene for no extra charge. Weird, huh? Yep, we bought it online and it came from Abilene.

Here in our part of Texas (Collin County) we are required to have a turn around for emergency vehicles.

I know you are so happy about the new freezer, but I would have thought the old one would last more than three years! I’m glad Vince can find a good use for it, though. How odd that everything won’t fit in. You must have had that packed tightly! When things were soft and squishy. =)

RE: your free delivery when ordering online. I had a similar experience recently. If I ordered my new drapes online from Kohl’s in-store kiosk I paid no shipping. If I ordered them online from my home computer, I would be charged for shipping. Huh?! where’s the logic in that?!
