Something almost doesn’t seem right about blogging about someone’s obituary but . . I guess if someone has such a funny obit, they would want it shared.
Almost every night, I read the obituaries from my home town. I guess that’s kinda wrong too but you never know who might have passed away . . could be someone I know.
Last night I was reading them in bed, which also seems kinda wrong. My life is really pretty sad, isn’t it? 🙂 Anyway, Vince was already asleep. I read this one and I couldn’t stop laughing so I went through my routine when I want to tell Vince something after he’s asleep.
Me: Vince, Vince . . VINCE!
Vince: What?
Me: Are you asleep?
Vince: I WAS!
Me: Can I tell you something?
Vince: You’re going to no matter what I say so . . yes . . go ahead!
I read him this obit and we were both cracking up. Notice the guy’s dog’s name and the funniest thing to me are the videos (well, one of them) that he wishes had been made. Hilarious!

I love it! He obviously had a great (warped) sense of humor. Sounds like someone I would have loved knowing. I WILL be sharing with my husband when he wakes—and I’ll bet he’ll start writing his own before long, just so that it’s as entertaining.

That’s a great obituary! I would love to have known this guy.
I index records for Family Search and I’ve seen some great obits (I’ve seen and indexed hundreds of thousands), but this one might top any I’ve come across before!

I’m sorry I never met this man because he sounds like he would be so funny. I wonder how many days he brightened. Thanks for sharing.

I think Jim would love that you shared his obit! It was heart-warming and funny and I’m sad that he went so young. Thanks so much for sharing this, Judy.

I love witty obits, this one is just tops. Thank you for sharing it.

It is cool that he wrote his own obituary. Some people can’t stand the thought of death but it sounds like he had accepted his own mortality and wanted to celebrate his life. I’m sure he will be missed.

That was great and sounds like he was probably fun to be around. I’m sure his family loved him and will miss him. Wonder how long he worked on that (the obit, I mean)?! LOL

I have a friend who went through cancer treatments. Her email updates were always humorous, even tho we knew she was having a difficult time. I think people with a fun outlook on life live a fuller life, no matter how long it is.

Laughing—I think this guy would like that we are laughing at his obit. What a wonderful, although irreverant sense of humor. I’m sure his family and friends will miss him very much!

I’m going to have to copy this Judy. I’ve bought a lot of teapots on ebay so my daughter wants to cremate me and put me in the teapots and sell me back on ebay – she doesn’t know that in my will I’ve put that they have to pick 5 teapots each to keep!!!

Cracked me right up! A great sense of humor till the end. One other good one I read was from an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He requested that a few of their players be his pall bearers so that they could let him down one last time.
