For some reason, I thought that I had finished the ribbing around the collar and front before I put this sweater away. I knew one sleeve was done but when I got it out to start working on it, I had only done 3″ of ribbing. The pattern called for 4-1/2 or 4-3/4″ (can’t remember already!). There were 414 stitches on the needles and this is sport weight yarn so finishing all that ribbing took forever! I think I could have gotten by with less inches but it’s so pretty . . I don’t mind the extra time it took and it fits great. Blocking will help those cables show up and a better picture in the daylight will help too!
Now there’s just one sleeve left to do and I’m hoping . . surely by Wednesday . . I can have this one finished.
Last night when I finished the ribbing, I was too tired to start the second sleeve so I went ahead and wove in all the ends so at least that much is done.
Vince was telling me how pretty it was last night and I said “Don’t you want to move somewhere that’s colder so I can wear it more?” He said . . NO! 🙁

I think this might be my favorite one you’ve done — so far. Oh wait, I think I said that about your last finished one too. THis one looks more difficult and fancy. You can always come to MO in the fall and anytime in the winter if you need some cooler weather to wear all your lovely sweaters!! lol

That is such a pretty design. I really enjoy your posts about life with Vince!

Save knitting time — amputate your arm. Less knitting to finish your sweaters that way…. oh, wait a minute. Then you would be unable to knit and can and do all the gardening. Guess you’d better cancel that elective surgery and keep on knitting away to finish this little beauty!

This is my favorite! Color, style and pattern. If it is too warm to wear it, I can send you my address in Minnesota, where it would be worn constantly! LOL

That sweater is so pretty! Love the shawl type collar, and it’s a wonderful color of yarn. You occasionally mention how much you like or dislike living where you are, but not too much about Vinces’ take on it all. He obviously loves it there by his remark, heat and all. I’m assuming by knitting all these lovely sweaters and socks you do have a cooler season certain times of the year you can wear them. I certainly hope so as they are too pretty to just fold up and store away.

The sweater is darling. You do such nice work. I took a class a while back to learn to knit socks. I have one sock 2/3 finished and that is where is sits for months now. I really think I would be better off making larger items. I got used to the dpns pretty quick but just not sure where I am all the time. I did the heel turn perfect but from then on kind of a mess. I paid a lot of money for the yarn so maybe I will finish them someday. Will have to take another class after I get moved to New Mexico.
