Living in such a small house, with so much stuff, I’ve had to get creative with how we store things and make every inch count.
This is something I’ve shown on here before but it came from Hobby Lobby.
Right now, in the top bin there are baking potatoes and a few onion skins that I need to take out. Middle bin has a couple of apples, lemons and limes and the bottom bin has plums.
This is another Hobby Lobby find. I mostly keep potatoes and onions in this one. The dogs can reach it so I can’t put fruit or anything sweet in there.
At Sam’s Club, I found this tiered galvanized storage rack.
I had been using a big bowl that was kinda “woven” but made out of ceramic. Fruit would get left in the bottom and every now and then something would spring a leak. The bowl was sitting on a glass shelf so then everything had to come off the shelf, the glass had to be taken off and cleaned and sometimes the leaky mess had dropped down onto the next shelf so it was a lot of trouble if I forgot to keep a close watch on the fruit.
This metal container is perfect! I lined the bins with paper towels because I didn’t know if the metal would cause the fruit to be discolored (or vice versa). The fruit is right there in plain site and easy to grab what we want. With everything only one layer deep, I can see if something is looking shriveled or like it’s ready to spring a leak. So much better! I’m probably going to be wishing we had purchased two of these stands.

I saw the multi-layer storage tray at different Sam’s clubs in the past 2-3 weeks. It was on clearance (don’t remember the price), but every one of the Sam’s Clubs seemed to have quite a few of them…..maybe you’ll be able to pick up another one.
