Weekend breakfasts are so much more enjoyable than rushed weekday breakfasts. That’s one thing I’m looking forward to when Vince retires . . breakfast between 8 and 9 and then our main meal around 2 or 3.
For our evening meal today, I’m going to make a pizza so yesterday I took a slab of homemade Canadian bacon out of the freezer.
Since we had English muffins in the fridge, we had poached egg, Canadian bacon and cheese on toasted muffins this morning. The dogs are thankful I don’t like my whites. 🙂
It was a yummy breakfast — and easy and quick to make.
The turkey that I took out of the freezer earlier in the week is now defrosted and I’ll get it to brining so I can cook it tomorrow. Then I can sit and knit til time to get the pizza going.
My daily activities seem to all revolve around getting food on the table . . but it only seems that way when I’m writing about it . . not in real life.

Ummmm, I think your daily life involves more than food. Chickens, composting, gardening, dogs in and out, canning and other food prep (for future use) and on and on. Don’t know HOW you get it all done every day!!

Yes, but I can play and have fun all day doing whatever I want just so long as the meals are served on time. I always know what’s for dinner and how long it’s going to take so I don’t get outside and start having too much fun and then we have nothing for dinner.

Yes, I so wish we didn’t need to cook and eat. Sure would have a lot more time to do the fun things! Plus think of all the money we would save!

Yes . . just think of the time we spend planning meals, shopping for groceries, cooking, cleaning the kitchen . . that’s a lot of time! I never really thought about much . . maybe I shouldn’t! 🙂
I always say sleeping is a waste of time too. If I could figure out a way to survive without eating and sleeping, I could get a whole lot more done in a day.
Heck, maybe if I’d stay off the computer I could get a lot more done too! 🙂

I am sorry but I did have to chuckle of your time schedule for when Vince retires. Breakfast that may work but the big meal between 2 & 3, not here! Normal routine around here, Galen is out the door by 7 at least 3 times a week to play golf and or look for something to take a picture of. I am a bad wife, I do not fix him breakfast then and he would rather not have a big breakfast. He grabs fruit, his coffee and out he goes. Gets home around one, we have lunch usually nothing real big, salad or sandwich. then it’s do what ever needs to be done and dinner around 6-7. And he has been retired since 6/2001! Good luck!
