Yesterday I put up about half of the garlic that I had pulled. I tried pulling up more yesterday but the stalks have rotted so I’ll use the shovel this afternoon and dig it out and see if any of it is worth saving. I put up 4 pints of garlic in white wine and should get about 3 pints more from what I already dug so I guess 7 pints is better than nothing.
You can see how big some of those cloves are. Some of them are regular garlic clove size but some are downright gigantic. Even though some of it was supposed to make large cloves, none of it was supposed to be one huge clove that took up the whole bulb. Just a crazy year for garlic.
For several years I’ve ordered garlic from Hood River Garlic and I’ve already placed my order for next year’s crop. I’ll need to have it in the ground by October and I’ll hope for a better crop next year.

WOW!! That’s a lotta garlic (unless you’re Italian..wink wink)! So you refrigerate it like that? Or good on shelf? How long does it keep that way?

Judy, do you have to refrigerate this? How long will it keep?

Hello Judy, – what do you put into the jars with the garlic and do you do anything special with them? Debi

When you have time, would you please explain the process for preserving the garlic in the white wine?
