In probably late February, our old riding mower bit the dust. It had been having issues for quite a while but the transmission went out and that was the final straw. Vince bought a new mower and, though I know I’m crazy for thinking it . . I fully expected him to load the old mower up on the trailer and take it to the dump or the scrap yard . . somewhere away from here. Anyone think that happened? No!
Vince took it apart . . took the transmission out and took that apart and there it sat for the past three months — the mower part was blocking a door to the shop and the transmission parts were spread out on a table. He was sure he could fix it. He and Chad worked on it all day today and it is running and sounds a heck of a lot better than I remember it sounding in years.
Fixed Mower
Obviously, the deck isn’t on it yet but he’ll get it on and he’ll go cut some paths through the woods . . places that are too narrow to get through with the tractor and places he doesn’t want to go with the new mower. Best of all . . the lawn mower is out of the shop and out of my way in there!
Mower
He’s so happy to have Chad here to help work on things. They’ve also taken down an old tripod deer stand that was left here, and that will go to the dump. Chad is helping clean in the shop. Nicole and I have been cooking and knitting. Addie has been swimming and swinging and helping in the garden! 🙂

I can almost hear the theme song to the movie”Rocky” when I see Vince in those photos. That guy is one in a million…just like his wife.
How great that your family is happy and content doing chores while visiting together. It beats sitting around on the couch trying to make polite conversation!

Reading about how much you enjoy one another’s company and how productive you all are together, I can understand how hard it is for you, at times, to be separated by so much distance. Sounds like you are making great memories together during this time together.
