Jackrabbit

When we first moved here, we saw jackrabbits often. I had never seen one before moving here and the first time I saw one, we were riding through the woods and my first though was . . a kangaroo in Texas? They are so funny to watch. It’s probably been a year since I’ve seen one and this morning, I was sitting, looking out the window . . being a very productive person!  🙂

Something went streaking across the yard and I got up to see a jackrabbit thinking about how he was going to get into the high fence.

I had to take a picture through the window but I wanted so badly to get a shot of him walking or jumping, but I didn’t.

He turned and went off into the woods. We have lots of cottontails and they give Rita fits. She wants to chase them but we keep her on a leash. If she went off after a rabbit, we might never see her again.
