Before I get into the menu planning app, I wanted to tell you something else. When I first got the new phone, I told some of you . . may have even posted it here . . that I thought the Samsung phone was slow to charge. The charger was plugged into a surge protector, as are my iPod charges and my iPhone had always been plugged in there. The Samsung was taking about 4 hours to charge and while I could live with that, I was kinda disappointed. When I was in Houston, I plugged the charger directly into a wall outlet. It was down to about 20%. Probably 20 minutes later, I needed to use the phone so I retrieved it and it was charged 90% already! I couldn’t believe it. Came home and plugged it directly into the wall and it’s super quick to charge now.
Back to the menu planning app . . we all know that as of now, there are more apps for the Apple platform than for Google but I found Food Planner and am really happy with it.
Here’s a part of next week’s menu. Recipes can be imported from just about every recipe site I use, including Tasty Kitchen. It has a grocery list, which can be easily edited or revised; I can click on the item in the menu and get the recipe and it all syncs back and forth with my phone and Samsung tablet. It isn’t perfect but I think it’s pretty darned good.
I am one of those who has to have the week’s menu planned in advance and know exactly what I’m cooking so I’m glad to have this app!

I was told recently that phones will charge much faster if they are put in aircraft mode before charging.
