Some days I look at her, not even 3 years old yet, and can’t believe how quickly she’s gone from being a baby to being so grown up. When you’re raising your own babies, you’re so busy that you hardly notice how quickly they’re growing but when watching from afar, via photos, it’s just amazing to see the growth and maturity that happens too quickly.
She looks so grown up in this photo! Long legs, big feet, cool chair and sunglasses! What a lady! Nicole and Chad were out practicing shooting their bows and Addie was chilling on the sidewalk.
Addie fishing cracks me up. I believe she would rather fish than do most anything else. Nicole said she sat there and never took her eyes off her bobber and she caught three fish! I was probably an adult before I touched a fish and even now, I’ll do it if I have to do it but it doesn’t bother Addie at all. In fact, Nicole posted a video the other day of Addie catching the little fish in Chad’s ice chest. She picked one up and kissed it!
Another thing that surprised the heck out of me is Chad. Nothing interferes with that boy’s fishing and look at him . . sitting there smiling and watching Addie fish. If he has a pole, I don’t see it. He’s enjoying watching and helping her fish. What a great dad/son!
I love the way Chad and Nicole are raising Addie. That’s not to say that I don’t bite my tongue sometimes to keep from giving them my “wise advice” but I love that she’s such a well rounded little girl. She’s happy out working in the garden, fishing, playing with her dolls . . whatever they do, she does also and that’s the only way of life she’s known.
Did I say we’re down to days and not weeks before they get here? I can hardly wait.

They really do seem to be GREAT parents!! Too bad there aren’t more like them. So much better for the kids to be active OUTSIDE and not inside on their gaming devices, watching TV, etc. Glad to hear they’re ALMOST there!! LOL

Beautiful child! Beautiful parents! Beautiful grandparents! Please know, although Addie is a truly beautiful child I personally believe that beauty comes from within!! So I think you truly have a beautiful family!! I love to hear how Nicole & Chad are raising Addie ~ so much goodness there! You must be very proud!
Now to address your other issues ~ the lack of internet in this day of age is difficult for me to understand ~ really a bummer!!
Also, I am so sad to hear about your garden. I know it gives you so much joy that I am especially sad to read that you have lost so much! All that I can is I’m sorry and “hang in there!” Hugs!!

She is adorable. Nothing quite like the bond between father and daughter. They will be close forever.

Love these pictures of Addie fishing. She reminds me of my love of fishing as a youngster too – although not quite as young as she is. I’m an old person now and still love to sit and fish on a nice warm day and hope I get a nibble or two. It is very relaxing and teaches patience. She has some very smart parents and grandparents to be role models for her. Can’t wait to see all the fun things you and she will do together when they arrive very soon.
