You would think, knowing my attitude towards shopping, that he would just leave me at home but no, I have to go with him. Worse, he asks my opinion. Like I have an opinion or know anything about a deer blind. My best advice: Just buy something so we can stop looking!
This guy had all kinds of wild animal feed and he knew so much about wildlife in our area. I could have sat and talk to him all day. The steps going up to this blind are kinda open . . almost like chains that are glued together and I didn’t like the feel of the so I wouldn’t go up in that one.
They can put these up higher. I think for now, he’s leaning toward this one. We really need two .. maybe three, but first, he needs to decide which one he wants and stop taking me all over the place looking at them.
And the best news is . . whatever he spends on deer blinds, I’m spending on yarn! Not really .. but I keep telling him that’s what I’m going to do.
Vince’s preferred method is hunting from the front porch but there’s a lot of activity in the woods around our house with more full time folks moving in and shooting down from 8 to 10′ up is much safer than shooting horizontally, so . . it’s time for the blinds.

I now understand your reluctance to go shopping with Vince. My DH retired recently, and while he hated shopping when he was still working, now all of a sudden I either have to go with him, or he has to go with me!! If it’s grocery shopping, I end up spending way more than normal, because he puts so much junk in the cart, and if it’s Costco, it’s the same thing. As for the deer blind, at least he doesn’t hunt, so I shouldn’t have to worry about that, but don’t give him any ideas!! We have deer in our backyard all year!! 🙂

My DH is retired military. Now he shops for smokers, gadgets for the smokers, and clothes, clothes and more clothes. And they say we are bad! I don’t think so….

Judy,
My husband loves high quality knives. I joke with him for every dollar he spends on knives, I spend on fabric. You should see this list I knives I want him to buy.

Too bad the neighborhood is filling up. Time to move! LOL. Good luck with that decision-making process. I hope it happens soon, for you.
