A Sitting Spot

When I’m out working in the garden, I keep a chair or two between the chicken coop and the garden gate and sometimes I’ll take breaks and ponder what to do next. This is the picture I showed the other day and you can see my chair.

A couple of weekends ago, I looked at this area that was accumulating garbage.

I thought . . I could clean that up, maybe put up a cute little picket fence between the chicken yard and the tree area, hang some plants, put some bird feeders . . so I began cleaning.

All the junk was dragged off. It was stuff we had used in the garden and we would pull it out of the garden and drop it!

I pulled out all the stickers and weeds. I left a few agarita bushes . . just can’t pull those out . .  yet. I trimmed up some of the branches that sprout too close to the ground. There are a whole bunch of stumps in there. We’re going to rent a stump grinder and grind down all the stumps around there . . some day.

I’m thinking I’ll put down some kind of cloth to smother out the weeds, then put in landscaping rocks and make it a nice little sitting area. Or, maybe I’ll not get to it for a year or so and it will be full of thorn bushes and trash again!  🙁
