The main part of the sweater is now off the needles. Sleeves, collar and front bands remain to be done. If we get the rain we’re predicted to get, the garden will stay muddy and I will be able to sit inside and knit without guilt. Without the rain . . I will not finish by the deadline (May 18). While I like to meet Laura’s deadlines, there’s no real harm if I don’t finish by then.
I think the front bands are 4 or 4-1/2″ wide so that will add about 8″ to close in the center gap.
I’m afraid to look too closely at the cables for fear of finding one crossed in the wrong direction. If you see one, don’t tell me . . yet! I couldn’t bear to have to rip back at this point.
It’s sport weight yarn so it’s good for even now when I’m in a cold room. If I get it finished, I’ll take it to Houston with me next week when I go for mom’s surgery. I find hospital rooms to be on the chilly side.
Of course, it will all look a whole lot better once it’s blocked but . . it has to be finished first! 🙂
