There was a time when I was always dressed and ready to go somewhere .. anywhere . . and any kind of bugs would have sent me running and screaming like a girl. Those days are gone . . long gone!
When I pick things outside, I always wash them off outside, mostly to get the dirt off out there and not put all that dirt in the septic tank. Then, I bring things in and wash them off again. Grit is real hard to wash away.
Yesterday I had washed the basil off outside, came in and washed it off several more times, then had it sitting in a bowl of water til I was ready to use it. Out the corner of my eye, I noticed something moving . . a little spider!
Vince and I had gone out last night to look at the fruit trees. I must have had my head right up there close looking at something. Later Vince said . . stop . . you have a worm in your hair!
Vince got him out of my hair and I said “Oh, my favorite color!” Then I had to grin . . there was a time when I would have gone immediately in the house, showered and washed my hair and made sure there were no more critters lurking.

I’d still be in the shower. I hate bugs and worms. I saw a tomato worm one time in my brother in law’s garden and went screaming into their house. He had a good laugh at me.

LOL – my boss just had an exterminator out because she has mice (they’ve been getting into her chicken feed). She found a dead mouse last night and absolutely flipped out about how to get rid of it. I told her I grew up across the street from a farm. Used to this stuff. Put on gloves, pick it up by the tail, and dispose of it. She couldn’t believe it. Life cycle – you just have to remember it’s nature! Good for you, Judy. At least neither of these critters bit you!

We’d go bankrupt if we had an exterminator every time we saw a mouse! Thankfully I have not seen any in the house but there’s a massive community of them living under one of the chicken coops.

I have to laugh but sometimes I wonder if I’ve gone too far! 🙂

A spider & worm in one day…..just another day on the farm. I found a lizard on my curtain the other week. Instead of spritzing it with Raid, I got a wide mouth Mason jar, caught & released it outside & posted pics to my granddaughter’s teacher to show the class. Ever the science teacher in me….lol

You know the science teacher loved getting the picture!
