I’ve always heard that sons and moms were most often closer than sons and dads and, on the other hand, daughters are often closer to their dads. It seems to hold true even with our dogs. Speck, a male, has always been my dog nad he’s always been partial to me.
Rita . . definitely a daddy’s girl. If Vince is outside and she can see him, she whines and whimpers, and if that gets no results, she howls and then she goes to the door and rattles the wooden blinds. I usually end up closing the blinds so she can’t see him outside.
Today at lunch, she was sitting on the back of the sofa watching him eat his lunch. She was sad that she was so close . . but not close enough that he could pet her.
I think she’s looking up at us to see if anyone is feeling sorry for her yet. Nope, Rita! You’ve got a good life so suck it up . . you can’t be the center of attention 24/7 . . or at least, that’s what I’ve been told! 🙂
Vince went back to work after lunch and she was left to sleep on the back of the sofa, waiting for him to return.
She knew he’d be home soon! She can sit on the sofa and face north and see him in the orchard.
Or she can face south and watch out the back door to see him in the shop.
She’s been here 6 months and she’s definitely part of the family. I hope she doesn’t remember her life before she came here. Heck, I can hardly remember my life before she showed up! 🙂

I think I see a tear in her eye. Just one teeny tiny itty bitty drop. That should surely make daddy come home early.

I’m glad she found you both also. Nothing like the adoration of our dogs

Aw. She’s so cute. I hope she doesn’t remember the hard times before she came to your house either. She’s definitely got a good life now!
