Besides the fact that I can’t remember anything any more, I post things on Facebook and here and I forget what I’ve posted where so . . don’t think I’ve totally lost my mind if I tell you the same things twice, ok?
Taiga is finished, or as finished as it’s going to get for now. I’m not going to block it til fall. Sweater season is over for central Texas. This thing is *heavy*. It’s made with super bulky weight yarn and where the colorwork is, that’s double layers of yarn. It’s actually heavier than my heaviest winter coat . . which isn’t too heavy but . . still . . it’s heavy.
I’m not sure what to do about buttons. The pattern calls for two toggle buttons, one at the top and one about where the colorwork starts. I bought three toggle buttons but I’m thinking I might like buttons all the way down the button band. I didn’t make buttonholes so they would be just for looks, and I never button sweaters anyway. I have a few months to think about it before it gets cold again.
It will look a whole lot more “finished” once it’s blocked. I do like it a lot though I wasn’t real crazy about the pattern and by the time I finished the colorwork, I was pretty ready to be done with it.
The best part . . on Friday’s yarn report, I can now count 10 skeins of yarn as used. 🙂

That may be very favorite so far. Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! Since I don’t knit it’s so hard for me to picture that being made with needles and not some complicated machine to keep the threads going in different directions. Just beautiful!

Beautiful! It looks like an applique quilt design in the color work.
PS. my All American canner arrives today. 🙂 I have everything I need to make several recipes so I will be studying the book next week while travelling with the husband. I can’t wait to have gumbo and chili and soup sitting in my pantry waiting to be consumed. 🙂

I remember looking at the pic and thinking that I really loved it! AND NOW YOU HAVE FINISHED IT!!! It is a work of art! I am thinking it would also be nice in a fingering weight yarn too!!!
