Another one bound. As with the first one, this one has been quilted for a while . . at least two years because it’s quilted with the Baptist Fan and I’ve never set that up on the machine I currently use.
It’s 60″ x 86″ and was made totally from leftover binding strips. Through the years, I toss the extras in a basket and the basket was overflowing a while back so I cut them all up and made this quilt.
Yes, there are ugly quilts and yes, this one is probably pretty ugly but it’s warm and snuggly and it may become Vince’s sofa quilt. At least the strips got used and at least it’s finished.

Oh Happy Day…….. Another finish….. Congratulations….
It is a lovely utility quilt……. At least that is what I call the ones that will be used a lot……… We all need those around………
Donna Williams says
I think it’s a fun quilt! Also, you could say it was “historical” right? It is a history of bindings past. 😀
Mary C in WA says
A binding Quilt totally! Made from Binding now ‘bound’ for Vince’s favorite couch or chair. Looks good to me!
shirley bruner says
that is not ugly at all…it is bright and cheerful….a lot like some of mine. great job
Joyce says
I don’t think it’s ugly at all! It’s just what is needed during the dreary days of winter. (even though the sun is actually shining here today…)
Myra says
I can’t seem to find the ugly in that quilt – just where is it? When I saw it, I knew I am going to make it and have the perfect fabric for it!
JudyL says
I have the pattern written and will share it.
Laura says
I really love this quilt – bright and cheery, not the least bit ugly.
danielle says
Shame on you! There is no way that the word “ugly” can be connected to that quilt! It is bright and cheerful and sunny!
Joan B. says
Don’t you mean Rita’s sofa quilt?
Carolyn says
FINISHED is good…. speaking as someone who has issues w finishing things.
Susan says
I don’t see anything at all ugly about that! It’s a great quilt, cheerful and cozy looking.
Teri Jordan says
I love the quilt and the colors…..
Dar in MO says
One more bound! Good for you and lucky for Vince and Rita. I don’t see it as ugly at all. Most of my everyday quilts are leftover scraps of some sort and they make the best snuggly, cluddly quilts in my book. If I didn’t use my leftover bindings to make scrappy bindings on my scrap quilts, I would make one of these. Maybe I’ll save them for these blocks to do just that!.
JoEllen says
I love that quilt! I also save my binding strips, so maybe this is in my future! BTW-I love your pressure cooker recipes! Just got a Cuisinart Pressure cooker for Christmas!
Judy H says
I love it!
Rebecca in SoCal says
How very traditional (using what you have) and modern at the same time! And it is a memory quilt. I found myself looking at all the B&W polka dot, then at any pair and seeing what else it was with, and noticing that the joins all seem to be in the middle of the block, showing foresight and planning. I love scrap quilts with a story to tell.
Nancy says
Now I have seen and made some ugly quilts, that is not like any of my uglies.
We did stop calling them ugly and start calling them ‘museum quality’. Have you ever noticed that that some of the quilts that survived to make it into museums are sometimes not very attractive but were never used so they held up thru the years? There are exceptions to that rule, some times the quilts were so beautiful that no one used them either. I have made museum quality on both ends of the spectrum.
