There are so many bluebirds hanging around but so far, none of them have set up housekeeping in our bluebird houses.
There were about 20 of them in the bird bath yesterday so I grabbed the camera and most of them had flown away by the time I got there. I was lucky enough to catch one in flight.
They are the most gorgeous shade of blue. I think my new favorite color is blue. My new favorite activity is definitely watching them. I think I’m going to put a bird bath in the garden so I can watch them while I’m out there working.

Be sure to check out the elders teaching the youngsters to bathe (when you finally get youngsters). It’s a hoot!! I watched one day while the babies went through all the motions — without even getting wet!

Judy,
Bluebirds are so pickey about their houses. Right now they are still trying to decide. What we found was this. They like them about 5 foot of the ground also they like them facing the sunshine each morning. You might have to twick some of your houses to get them to come in.
Now ours like one spot and only this certain house where it was. They would fight over it each year. We tried to put up others new one but they would have nothing to do with them. Always went back to old house( within about 40 foot of my kitchen window too) and with a few minutes they were grabbing pine straw and some male was going to work.
So funny he builds the nest and invites her if she likes it they stay .If she doesn’t like it you have to take that one out and let them start over. Yep it is a pain but after 20 years we caught on. Well worth the trouble I might add. They are funny birds to watch and have. Your garden will be free of bugs with them around.
Good luck once the build they will come back year after year to same one and try to get first dips on it.
