This morning I went into the veggie market/seed store and they had about a dozen HUGE cauliflower. I said “Oh, my! Those are big!” The guy who runs the place is kinda dry and he said “Yep, that’s what we call Texas cauliflower!”
That’s a full size dinner plate sitting next to it.
I have never seen a cauliflower that big. I’m sure there’s a lot of “stem” in there but he assured me it’s the best tasting cauliflower I’ll ever eat. And, it was only $1.99. I said “per pound?” Nope . . $1.99 for the whole thing.
It’s hard to read but it’s 5.4 pounds . . almost 5-1/2 pounds. Huge. Yep . . Texas size for sure! I sure wish I could grow them that big. That’s my goal . . a 5 pound cauliflower.
We love cauliflower cooked or raw and I’d rather snack on cauliflower than cookies . . I just don’t usually do it! 🙂
