You don’t hear much about quilt finishes on this blog, do you?
It was finished Sunday but it was so windy, I couldn’t get a good picture. Yesterday . . I’m not sure what happened yesterday . . maybe I just forgot but this morning, I thought there was no wind so I took the quilt out to hang on the clothes line and just about the time I snapped the photo, here came a little breeze.
I stood there, shivering in the near freezing temps, reminding myself that it will be 80º again on Saturday, and finally the wind stopped enough that I was able to get a better picture.
This is a quilt that I think I started while we were in MO but I didn’t take the time to go back and look. It’s been quilted for a while and just needed binding. There are about 8 tops that are already quilted that are waiting for binding so my goal is to get those finished. That will give me at least a little sense of accomplishment .. I hope.
Glad to have this one finished. Not sure if it will be given away, donated or used here at home but . . it’s finished and that’s good.

Lovely quilt! The colors are wonderful. The lining is a nice extra punch. I am glad the wind showed it to us. We have your wind in South Carolina now and it is cold. I vote we forget winter and summer and live in spring and fall. I may need a bit of summer to grow tomatoes.

Well done! A finish is a finish, right? I look forward to seeing seven more lovely quilts from the past. Part of the reason I don’t count yardage out until I finish the binding is so I don’t end up with a stack of “almost” finished quilts.
Karen says
very nice – I was beginning to think you were no longer doing any quilting 🙂
JudyL says
I kinda was beginning to think the same thing!

I think it’s stunning – and I love the small print in that light background. Great finish! And I’m sure it is very satisfying to get that binding done.
I have 2 quilts needing binding too. But for me the holdup is usually at getting a top quilted since I have to hire it done, except for a few baby quilts.

Very nice, Judy. I bet it felt great when you put that last stitch in.

It is beautiful.
That should help your stash numbers. 🙂
JudyL says
I count the top once it’s quilted so all I get to add is for the binding.

Very nice! I really like the effect of the offset triangles in the border. I’m trying to make a huge dent in my stash and this looks like a pattern that I’ll try. Thanks for the inspiration.

Always nice to chalk one up as finished!! Love the quilt. I have the same problem here with the wind. It can be very calm, Galen and I will head out to take a picture or two of a finished top-up comes the wind! Never fails! in the 40’s and drizzling here, n0t a nice day to be out. But we did get to see a flock of 11 white pelicans on our pond this morning, eating and resting up for their trip north!

That’s a very lovely quilt. After working on Bonnie Hunter’s very busy, scrappy mystery quilt for months, it’s nice to lay my eyes on the calm, soothing abilities of a two-color quilt :). I first came to your blog because of quilts and have been missing seeing them, though I do enjoy your every day life posts too (well, maybe all but the knitting – I’m not a knitter) so you won’t lose me as a reader because I know your quilts will still pop up here and there! I think the lightly wind-blown touch in the one photo makes for a nice bit of dramatic action which adds more life to the photo.

Wish I lived nearby – I’d finish those bindings for you! I love doing the binding. 🙂 Great quilt.

I like the fact that the wind gave us a little peek of the backing! A very pretty quilt.

Beautiful.
I was looking through the new issue of Quiltmaker last night and saw a sneak peak of “Jeweled sky” coming in the next 100 block quilts magazine. Can’t wait to see that one also.

I just got that quilt back and it’s beautiful! Hope you enjoy it!

I love this 2 color quilt. You always make quilts that appeal to me. That pieced border really sets it off well. I will look forward to seeing those other 7 finished in the coming months. I like doing the bindings, so I usually don’t have them waiting in that pile. Mine are languishing in the “to be quilted” pile.

Congratulations on a fine finish, Judy. Hope it signals the return of your quilting mojo.
