It looks like the fire wood fairy barfed a load of fire wood on my porch.
I had to laugh when I saw this. It doesn’t bother me but I was thinking . . would Vince even notice if, instead of folding his clothes, I just dumped them somewhere. Or, what if, instead of serving food either in separate dishes or making neat little piles on his plate, I just dumped it all in one big pile . . rolls, corn, salad, broccoli, gravy, roast . . one big pile? Knowing Vince, he either wouldn’t even notice or he wouldn’t care and if I said anything about this pile of fire wood .. he would say “What do you expect? There’s fire wood .. be happy!”
I am happy. I am so happy, I think I’m going to build a fire right now . . before breakfast . . before anything else.

Enjoy!! Wood heat is so much nicer than oil heat! We live with wood heat every winter, although the furnace runs at night, or when it’s extremely cold (like NOW!). Saves us a lot on fuel too! 🙂

We had a late lunch out yesterday and I sat by their fireplace. Felt so nice and warm. Miss that, ours in MN went 24/7 during the winter and the downstairs was always nice and toasty. The one in this house, gas and strictly for looks. We tried it once and only once when we first moved in. And the chimney isn’t right for a wood burning one. Besides we don’t have a place to cut wood unless we haul it down from PA. So it isn’t in our future!!!! Enjoy, nothing like a nice fire in the fireplace on these TX winter days!

Ah, I really miss the quality of heat from a wood fire. I may eventually add a wood stove to this house, but considering my advancing years, it may be well for me to get a gas fireplace stove instead!
