You know . . I cook a lot and most all the time everything is delicious. Not so much tonight.
The backdrop . . it’s tossed out in the dead grass! Burnt kale!
I go for weeks without using the oven and tonight I had a leg of lamb roasting in the oven, crash hot potatoes roasting in the oven, Fogo rolls baking in the oven and kale roasting in the oven. Something HAD to go on the bottom rack. The lamb had been cooking at 325º so I took it out and stuck it in the Nesco on warm so I could crank the oven up to 425º for the potatoes and the rolls. I knew it was risky but figured I’d keep a close watch on the kale. Apparently not close enough.
Oh well . . it happens to the best of us every now and then, right?

If you ever are in the market for a new range, you might want to consider a double oven range. I never thought we would use two ovens at the same time, but it is amazing how often we do just that, and we don’t cook anywhere near as much as you do. It doesn’t give you any more capacity, but you can have things cooking at different temperatures.

That’s an oops. At least it was only the kale…I’m usually not that lucky! It’s usually all or nothing if I mess up dinner.

Yea!! I am not the only one. LOL Usually it’s bread that I’m trying to toast while doing 8 other things. I have learned to count it out. About the time I get to 25 I need to pull it out. At least everything else came out alright! Smiles.

That happens to the best of us! Especially if you cook a lot! Lots of funny stories I could tell and some not so funny!

Happens to me all the time – that’s why my husband does most of the cooking!

How did you like the crash hot potatoes……

Wait, that only happens every once in a while to some people? In my world, it’s pretty much par for the course that SOMETHING will go wrong when I’m cooking several things at the same time. (I’ve got Murphy blood on both sides of my family, and that is pretty evident when I try to do too many things at once!) I’ve been thinking, as I print out all these delicious recipes you’ve been sharing, that 2015 should be the year of the Judy Laquidara Cooking School. We could all pitch tents on your “back 40” and cook/eat the day away. After all, you seem to always be able to squeeze one more thing into your schedule! (I think I’ll dream about this tonight! 🙂
