It was a pretty uneventful Christmas around here .. just us. I did get to talk to Chad, Nicole and Addie. Nicole put a bunch of pictures on Facebook and Nicole’s mom texted some pictures to me so that helped a little.
Vince moved around some chickens . . still trying to get them all where we want them. It isn’t easy putting separate groups of chickens together. I did a bit of sewing!
That’s 88 half square triangles and probably at least 48 or 50 more to go. But .. I’m sewing and that ‘s good!
Cooking was kinda weird today. I almost always make Watergate Salad and we almost always have a turkey breast, along with prime rib, green bean casserole, scalloped potatoes . . that’s our more traditional Christmas dinner but today, I felt lazy! Except for breakfast, I never even used the stove today. I did the roast and baked potatoes in the Nesco roaster. I grated some cabbage, carrots and radishes for coleslaw for lunch and made the best dressing using some of the Miso that Vince had ordered.
We had some brie that we were going to heat up tonight so I saved the potato skins from lunch and we had brie and potato skins for dinner. From the leftover rolls, I sliced them real thin, brushed them with butter and toasted them for the brie.
Christmas, 2014 is drawing to a close. I hope everyone had a good one and for those who have to travel back home during the next few days, I wish you all safe travels.

Sounds like a peaceful day!
Would you share the miso dressing recipe?
I played with my new Cuisinart electric pressure cooker today – I made hard boiled eggs and some brown rice to go with our Christmas seafood gumbo! 🙂

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas to me! I made things a lot easier around here by cooking some prepared things, and it worked out just fine. Quiet is good.
