Don’t remind me . . I know I said I wasn’t doing more test knits but I love everything Laura Aylor does and I knew this cowl would be quick and beautiful so I couldn’t pass it up. And . . it has cables and I love cables.
I should finish it tonight and will get a better picture (maybe) tomorrow. Of course, I’ll let you know when Laura releases the pattern too.
It is quick. I started it Sunday and will finish it tonight – that’s 3 days, especially considering I made three trips to town yesterday. I’m using 4 skeins of Capra DK yarn so not only is it quick, but it’s pretty inexpensive to make. This is the first time I’ve used Capra and it’s real soft and snuggly. KnitPicks says it’s even more snuggly after it’s washed. It’s 85% Merino Wool and 15% cashmere . . no wonder it’s soft! I think I may need to make a few more of these for gifts for next year. How’s that for thinking ahead? 🙂

That looks very soft and warm. I have not tried knitting anything with a DK weight yet, so maybe this pattern will be the one. Haven’t tried cables either.

WHAT?!! Why did you make SO MANY trips to town in one day?! That looks like it’s going to be beautiful. Is the wool/cashmere mix not scratchy?

Speck had to be at the vet at 7:30 to get his teeth cleaned. I had to go back at 4:00 to get him and I met a friend in town for lunch. Yep . . THREE trips in one day!

Cables and cashmere! It doesn’t get any better than that! Can’t wait for the pattern to be released.

I am putting in my dibbs for this cowl … The color will be perfect and I love the combination of the cables and moss (?) stitch. Thanks.

You didn’t mention you were doing a test knit! Capra DK is wonderful. That reminds me I have to finish my Dianthe cardigan too.

I really enjoy having my first cup of coffee with you, each day, Judy. I enjoy some of the same hobbies you do, so it is fun for me to see what you are up to and your thought process behind so many of the projects you choose. I LOVE the cabled cowl. I am going to go to Ravelry and see some of her other patterns. DO let us know when it is available.

Beautiful. I just finished two cowls with DK alpaca merino blend. It is local yarn which makes the gifts even more fun. I wish this pattern were available so I could make some of these. I am a new knitter, and I am not sure about yarn weights and patterns.
