This time of year, UPS delivers in a U-Haul truck and Fed Ex delivers in a Penske truck

Last week during lunch, this Penske truck drove up. Every year at Christmas UPS delivers in U-Haul but I had never seen Fed Ex deliver in a Penske truck. Vince went out to meet them. That’s a sure sign that he was expecting a package. I went about whatever I was doing and in a few minutes, I looked up and the Penske truck was out in the orchard.

Notice how discreet I’m being . . taking photos out the window instead of walking out there and being obvious. Vince had to go out and open the big gate for him to get in there. I wondered what Vince had bought that they were delivering to the orchard. No telling . . knowing Vince.
When Vince came in, I asked him what he got and why he had it unloaded in the orchard. Nothing like that . . the driver was new and he turned right and got hung up on a tree and pulled down a few limbs and was kinda stuck so Vince sent him out to the orchard to turn around.
Friday, the regular Fed Ex guy came . . in his regular Fed Ex truck and he told me that the new driver refused to come to our house . . said he couldn’t get in and out of our driveway.
Maybe it would be a blessing if all the deliver folks would refuse to come to our house . . we would stop shopping.
Come to think of it . . I still don’t know what Vince ordered that arrived via the Penske truck. Maybe I don’t want to know. 🙂

We have a locked gate so now we have a box at the gate with a lock to put on it inside. However they have yet to use the lock. If it is too big some put things under the box and one put something on top of the box. We still find things just dropped over the gate.
Get unhappy when the books get wet. But UPS bought me another copy.

FedEx delivered something to one of my neighbors using a Mercedes van.

i just wish fedex would show up! they were “out for delivery” on saturday, perfect since it is DH’s birthday present and would have arrived ON the day! late that night “local weather delay” appears on the tracking website. now i have to wait ’til monday and about 4P i began checking the website… about 8:30 “local weather delay” shows up on the website. NOT… both days were clear but cold and we haven’t had snow to speak of yet this winter! i’ll be gone this morning but plan to make a phone call early enough to talk to a real live person and get it here. this is not the first time ‘local weather delay’ has been blamed when conditions were just fine — i think it’s just their excuse when it gets late and they haven’t reached the outlaying area where we live. i’m very frustrated and can’t even complain to DH about it. thanx for the vent!!!
