Boots Update

He’s going to be ok! He has a urinary tract infection, no blockage! He got an antibiotic shot that lasts 2 weeks so I don’t even have to give him pills and he can come home now!

And then I’m going to take a nice, long nap.

Yesterday it was in the 80’s. We worked in the garden with shorts and flip flops. Well, maybe one of us had on boots and one of us had on flip flops. Today, it’s windy, the high is going to be 35.

Vince is home for lunch. 

Me:  It’s 32º and feels like 17º here.
Vince:  Hmm (he’s shopping for deals online)
Me:  It’s 26º and feels like 12º where Chad is.
Vince:  Hmmm. (I’m being ignored.)
Me: It’s 75º and feels like 76º in Lake Charles.
Vince: What are you trying to tell me? (Meaning . . say what you have to say and stop interrupting my shopping!)
Me:  I want to move where Chad is.

I know how to end a conversation, don’t I?  🙂

OK . . I’m going to get Boots, and then he and I will take a nap on the sofa in the sewing room.

  2. Whenever my mother heard good news, she always said “Ala vai”. I don’t know the translation or spelling but that is what I say to the news about Boots! Ala vai!

    • A Hebrew word that made it’s way into Yiddish. Here’s a song about it from the ’50s. Listen long enough and you hear the meaning. =) Halavai.

      Officially, “it should only be so,” and in the song, “how I wish, I hope, I pray.” =)

      I was curious, so I looked it up.

  11. What a relief that he’s ok. When my dogs get mopey I always wish they could speak to tell me what’s wrong.

    P.S. It was -12 and felt like -30 when I went to work this morning. I would suggest not coming to North Dakota. 🙂

  13. So glad to hear that Boots can come home and it’s great that you don’t have to monkey with pills. It’s always scary when they are sick. Hope he’s back to normal soon!

  16. Great news about Boots! Our boy kitty had similar issues about a month ago and the vet switched his food. And I’m so glad that you don’t need to give Boots pills–it’s been interesting giving our girl kitty her meds for the past two months (gel capsules help).

    We had a high of 4 here in MN. Good for sewing or napping!

  20. I’m an avid cat lover and follow Boots’ stories with interest. He has grown to be such a lovely cat and I wish for him that he had a playmate, in addition to you!! I bet he and Rita could become the best of Buds! What a good Momma you are to the animals in your care.

  21. Good news. My 13 year old male had a blockage about 10 years ago… quite the scare. BUt since then, with the prescription food… no repeat. They have improved the foods so much over the years.
    Hope the nap went well.

  27. Day late and a dollar short…I’m glad Boots is OK with minimal treatment! I’m sorry he got sick on the holiday weekend.

    We are actually having rain! We got the better part of an inch yesterday, and it’s been raining lightly but steadily today. Whee!
