Rita has herself a new perch! I was trying to be sneaky and take a picture with the cell phone so she wouldn’t notice me.
Vince said “Every day she takes over more space. No wonder someone dumped her . . she probably took over their whole house!”
We got her a snazzy pink harness but then I thought that might attract attention to her and the vultures and hawks might notice her more. Since she’s having surgery in two days and can only go out on a leash, we’ve been trying to work with her being on a leash. Oh, my . . she is one stubborn little dog. Old Speck doesn’t like being outside so he goes out and is real quick. I sometimes have to drag him into the grass or he would do his business on the concrete porch! Not Rita, we have to walk for miles it seems before she finds the perfect spot. Tonight, we were out at dusk and I should have brought a flashlight out with me . . it was way past dark before she found the perfect spot. She almost found it and a rabbit ran by and she totally forgot what she was about to do and we had to start all over with finding the right spot.
Vince said “Just take the leash off and let her go find her own spot!” Nope, I don’t give in . . then she’ll never learn to go out on a leash. There are just too many hungry critters around here and I don’t like her going out by herself so from now on . . she can go out with us when we’re outside with her but no more going out by herself, especially after dark.

Oh, Judy … I have tears running down my cheeks with Rita getting distracted!!! It is funny when our Rascal gets distracted by a salamander or even a bug! We do love
our little kids/dogs!

Our couch is in front of a window – Jill loves to sit on the back of it and keep watch out the window.

Uh oh, is Vince falling out of love (to a degree) with Rita?!!

OUR ZOEY KNOWS WHEN IS TIME FOR THE BREAD WINNNER TO COME HOME. SHE IS EITHER ON BACK OF HIS CHAIR (LIKE RITA) OR WE HAVE A, HER, CHAIR TURNED SO SHE CAN SEE OUT ANOTHER WINDOW. WE DO SPOIL OUR BABY’S.

We too go out with Emmi when it’s dark–we have lots of owls!!

Good idea! We don’t let our Lilly out without us and never without a leash. She’s little (although she thinks she’s huge) and there are hawks around. I laughed at her “distraction” – same thing happens to us!
