Remember the Kroger Pies?

When we first found out about the pies at Kroger, we bought a peach pie one night . . the last one and only one they had. The next time we were in there, we asked if they had any more and the guy in the deli . . well, he seemed a little confused and told us to look on the bread aisle so we looked on the bread aisle but no pies. The next time I was in there, I asked again about them and the guy in the deli, who was a little more helpful, said “They haven’t sent us any boxes to sell the whole pies so we cut them in half. It’s the same pie . . you can buy two halves.” Yes . . but two halves is almost $2 more than a whole pie and you know me . . I’m not paying extra for the same thing.  I’ve been to Kroger probably 4 times since finding the one peach pie and they’ve never had any more of them.  🙁 

Tonight we were in Kroger and they had some of the half pies, which are regularly $4.99, marked down to $2.29. Yep, I’ll pay that for them, even if the sell by date is tomorrow. So, we came home with two halves of apple pie, for a total of $4.58. The whole pies are $7.99 so we did good!

Well, I guess we did good. I’m going to have to buy all new clothes in a bigger size if we don’t lay off this pie and ice cream!
