As I begin writing this post, it’s early Friday morning. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I hope the mail lady today brings all the yarn I’ve ordered this week so I can see it all and begin the test knit. On the other hand, that means it will all have to go on today’s yarn report. If she brings part of it today and part of it Saturday, then Saturday’s arrivals go on next week’s yarn report and that makes it not quite look so bad, right? On the other hand (except there are no more hands!), Vince is home today and having to explain more yarn arriving just may not be fun!
The easy part – nothing used!
Now for the added:
First, 8 skeins of Madelinetosh DK Twist. The reason for buying this (and you know there is one!) was that the DK Twist is not available in stores, not real easy to get and Madelinetosh had a 20% off sale and . . my friend, Amy, keeps letting me know about all the yarn I should be getting! As usual, my photo doesn’t do this yarn justice and I’m sure the plastic bags don’t help but I didn’t want to tear into them. This yarn is the most gorgeous color. It’s the palest gray and has just hints of pink and aqua but no real saturation of those colors. I’m going to use it to make Glentrekker. Check out those cables!
Next . . Cascade 220 for Laura Aylor’s new test knit, Hay Cove. I can’t show a picture yet but if you click on the link, you’ll see Laura’s project. I am so in love with this sweater. I used to have a cardigan with stripes about that wide and I loved it and wore it so much. Living in Texas, a good sweater is about all we need most of the winter and I can see me wearing this one all winter! There are more skeins of the dark gray so there are 11 skeins added.
Next, Laura had suggested WATERshed as a yarn, which is what she used, and I really wanted to use WATERshed but didn’t want to use the same colors Laura used so I needed a little help and found a couple of shops that carried it but they were less than helpful, which again reminded me why I love The Loopy Ewe so much, but I kept looking, even after ordering the Cascade 220, and found a helpful shop in North Carolina, with a kvery nice lady who helped me, and I ordered the WATERshed, and now maybeI’ll make 2 of Laura’s sweaters. I’m going to have to think about the colors. I think I need more variety so I may have to order more yarn or make something else but for now, there’s another 18 skeins added.
And, to round it off, here’s one lonely skein of Ginger Ninja in Jilly by Dream in Color. I bought it because I like the color and think it would be a cool cowl for Fall.

I’m waiting for the big announcement……..you’re opening a new yarn store….right ???? Beautiful yarns and colors.

You’re welcome! ;0) I love the Cascade 220 colors for Hay Cove. Moonglow will work great for Glentrekker. I really wanted to order one or two of the Jilly colors….if only the yarn wasn’t single ply. I was looking at the Tosh Simone colorway this afternoon but there weren’t enough skeins left. Whew.

Be careful with all the knitting you do. I developed trigger finger. It stopped my knitting. Love your blog. I learn lots from you.

There isn’t any red on this report …. probably in error, but maybe it will make you feel better!!
