The buttons from Fastenation Studio have arrived and they are so cute! I see a button feddish in my future. As if I needed it, these buttons have me wanting to knit faster!
Who wants to guess what happened next? Yep, I need patterns and yarn to make sweaters for Addie to go with these buttons. Off to Ravelry I went.
First . . those sicle pop buttons! These were the ones I wanted to use first but none of the patterns I found really jumped out and grabbed me so I’ll wait for these.
For the ice cream cone buttons, I’m going to make Peachick Eyes Cardigan using Cascade Silk in Cotton Candy. I think the Cotton Candy pink is just dark enough that the pink of the ice cream cones will show up nice. There are 6 ice cream cone buttons and the pattern uses three so I’ll have three more for another project . . later.
The six own/round buttons will be waiting for the perfect project.
For the Hungry Caterpillar buttons, I’ll be making Oscar using Malabrigo Rios in the Ivy color.
These buttons were for adult size sweaters, no projects in mind, but I seem to make a lot of grayish colored sweaters so I’m sure they’ll be put to good use . . some day. I love that they’re a bit metallic.
I have a stand up type jewelry box in our bedroom . . that I used have chock full of jewelry when I worked and dressed up and now, I should get an award for having the most non-jewelry junk in a jewelry box but I cleaned out a drawer in there and my buttons are all going in that drawer so I don’t have to go searching for them when I need them.

I was wondering if the buttons are washable? There seems to be instructions on the card- am I right that they say hand washable or delicate? I might need some buttons from there as well!

Those buttons are all so cute. I’m glad I don’t knit and make sweaters or else I would want to rush to the website and purchase them all!

Those buttons are adorable. At this rate, I’m never going to get any knitting done because I’m surfing on the computer!!!

I have a jillion buttons, including those in my late mother’s button box (which is really a tin). I buy buttons in thrifts stores and from yard sales mostly. I have only a few cute novelty buttons. The ones you just bought are great!

Those buttons are really cute and will add a great touch with whatever you make for them! Now I need to visit that website! Thanks, I think.

Judy those buttons are adorable!! I also have a thing for buttons – especially vintage buttons made from pearl or glass. I make a lot of my tops and love finding just the right button. EBay is a great source for buttons. I go to thrift shops and yard sales and look for the buttons on shirts. If any of the buttons you purchased cannot be washed there are little “connectors” (don’t know the exact word) that allow you to attach the buttons and easily remove them for laundering – kind of like a cufflink. If they can be laundered I advise you to first wrap each button in a small piece of foil to protect it from chipping or at least turn the garment inside out. So glad you are feeling better!

Oh my gosh these are all so darn cute make me wish I could knit. hey i could just change out some of the ugly ones on sweaters I have right? I love the ones for Addie they are going to look so cute. So you sew for her too? I can see the icecream and popsickles ones on summer little dresses for her. Thanks for sharing that website now where is that credit card when I need it. Look like this lady hand makes these out of either ceramic or some kind of clay. Just too cute…..

Well, I ALREADY have a button fetish – ever since I was a toddler – and some of those would look great on crazy quilt blocks! I’ll have to check out that link.
