Remember little Screech with his screechy little crow?
He’s pretty much grown up now and his crow isn’t quite so screechy. He’s beautiful!
Every evening Vince and I sit outside and watch the chickens. Remember Roscoe, the little black tailed white Japanese rooster that I loved?
Screech came in an assortment of bantams from Tractor Supply so we had no idea what we were getting but last night, Vince said “I think Screech is a black Japanese bantam! That’s exactly what he is. You can read about him on Cackle Hatchery’s page here. It’s kind of a process of elimination to determine what kind of chickens we end up with sometimes but I’m real happy to find out that Screech is another Japanese bantam. And, guess what kind of chicken Della is . . a black tailed white Japanese Bantam!

They’re beautiful! I think the Japanese Bantams are my favorite, but I really like the ones with fluffy feet, too! 🙂
I never knew there were so many types of chickens before I started reading your blog!

Ooh. Are you going to put them together for babies? I want one!
JudyL says
No, we’re not going to hatch any of their eggs. They’re predisposed to having leg issues and not a whole lot of them survive so I don’t want to deal with that.

Della + Screech = true love! Well maybe not true love, but a good lucking couple none the less!
