Seriously, there’s plenty to do but I do feel like a spoiled child who only wants to do what she knows she cannot do. I want to work in the garden and I’m being a good patient and not bending over to pull weeds, though I did tie up some tomatoes this morning before it got too hot. I want to take a nap but it’s really too late . . I might sleep right through til tomorrow morning.
After just a bit of house cleaning, I’ve been playing on Ravelry and loading up my shopping cart and dumping most of it before checking out. The key word there is “most” of it. Darn! I must have done something else because the dishwasher is going for the second time today. Oh . . . I remember . . I cleaned out the fridge.
Here’s what I’ve decided about my knitting projects and you know . . this will all change before I hit “publish” but it helps me to write it out and heck . . you probably have nothing better to do than read what I’m thinking, right? (No, I’m not taking any meds!)
Wanderling is still frustrating me. I bought this yarn to make it but think I want something more rustic or “throw on over something and wear anywhere”. This just isn’t it. But, this is Nicole’s absolute most favorite color so I’m sure I can find something to make for her using this yarn.
Speaking of that color yarn, see the yarn on the far left?
That’s Babe in sock yarn. I have a whole bag . . maybe 6 or 7 skeins of Babe in Wollmeise DK. Same color Nicole loves. She had found this Flower Cardigan for me to make for Addie and she said “I wish there was a matching one for me!”
Well,I started digging around in Ewelina’s available patterns (I’ve purchased two of her patterns now so we’re on first name basis!) and look what she was working on! Flower Cardigan for Adults.
I wrote Ewelina and asked her . . when is this going to be available. “Stop wasting time and get it done because I want to make it NOW!” No, I really didn’t say that but after a few weeks, she wrote back and explained the delay and it wasn’t long before the pattern was available so I’m happy and I’ll use that Babe DK to make Nicole and Addie matching sweaters . . some time!
And then . . I was struggling with what to make for the Eat, Sleep, Knit 3rd Quarter Challenge and this was real important to me because . . well, I’ve never done one of their challenges and I felt like it was now or never! Seriously, I should have just forgotten about it because I have too much else going on , too much yarn, you know . . life!
I ended up choosing Nordic Trail. It’s been in my favorites about as long as anything
It uses a chunky yarn and I got Juniper Moon Yearling, which is being closed out and is on sale, and I got red (Fire Truck). I was thinking it might be something I would wear around the holidays.
The runner up for the 3rd Quarter Challenge, not that we had to choose one, but I did .. is Honeylicious.
I really like it. I think it would work good here in our Texas winters. I ordered Dream in Color Classy . . the old version, which is also being closed out and was on sale. I really like the old Classy and hate to see it go but . . out with the old/in with the new. That’s what I always say! The color I ordered is “Vague Unease”. Just kinda seems to fit my feeling these day sand you know how I love that limey green!
But, the cutest thing of all is this . . monkey mittens. Addie loves Curious George and last I heard, her birthday part was going to be a Curious George party.
Those I had to order yarn to make. Addie is going to LOVE them! I saw them made with all kinds of cute colors but I’m going to stick with traditional sock monkey colors for her first pair.
I probably should go take that nap . . .

Do you suppose it could be something in some of the yarn (dye) that could be bothering your eyes? We had a friend that happened to. Take care

No, they did an ultrasound and something is torn within my eye.

I’m sorry to hear about your eye – I hope the healing process doesn’t take too long. Wishing you all the best.
